Why no Pakistani buy new Japanese Cars: Loot Mafia Suzuki, Honda & Toyota face major Losses in billions

That's called container inqilab. Destroy the existing things, and don't know how to build new things.
BTW, haqeeqat TV is almost all lies. Masala bechta hai yeh admi.

True but why are the Japanese car makers in Pakistan and begging PTI govt to reduce taxes, duties and premiums??

Pak Suzuki, Honda Atlas and Toyota Indus motors looted Pakistanis dry like wolf bites....snatched money from ignorant common Pakistanis for a fact.

"True but why are the Japanese car makers in Pakistan"

they are in every country on earth.

Thee way multinationals work is that they set up or partner with a local company (usually with the same name ie Pak Suzuki) then they give those local companies all the power to make decisions for the local markets.
So if Pak Suzuki thinks it's a good idea to bring in the latest Suzuki models, they will. If not, they will continue to sell junk.

The real issue is that in every developed country, the government sets regulations for cars
Ex. In Canada starting this year ALL cars have to have backup cameras .

Pakistan does not do that. They have no regulations.
No regulations = you can sell 30 year old junk.

In Canada it is illegal to sell a 30 year old model that has not been updated to meet environmental and safety standard.

Car Imports to Pakistan Decrease by a Massive 42%

According to analysts, due to the restriction on car imports and the depreciating value of rupee, car imports in the first ninth months of the current fiscal year plummeted by 42% to $209 million.

The latest Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data shows that in the same period last year, car imports totaled $359.5 million. Last month, on a year-on-year basis, car imports had dropped by 80% to $6.1 million.

Even the clearance of cars at customs has halted because of the restrictions imposed by the government, confirmed customs authorities.

In the budget 2018/19, a restriction was imposed on non-filers preventing them from registering imported cars with the relevant authorities and stopped them from buying locally manufactured cars by the government.

Although, the incumbent government tried to reverse these measures through its first mini-budget – Finance Supplementary (Amendment) Bill 2018 – it was forced to drop the idea after severe opposition from stakeholders.

It is pertinent to point out that the condition was relaxed for overseas Pakistanis, thus allowing them to register the cars even if they weren’t filers.

However, in the second mini-budget – Finance Supplementary (Second Amendment) Bill 2019, the government relaxed some of the measures and lifted the ban that prevented non-filers from purchasing locally-manufactured motor vehicles. While this condition was withdrawn after pressure from local car companies due to fall in sales, the restriction on imported cars stands along with the condition that customs be cleared in foreign currency.

On the other hand, cars of commercial nature are still banned and can only be imported under gift scheme, residence transfer and personal baggage. In January, the commerce ministry announced that taxes on imported cars should be paid in dollars.

Devaluation of the rupee was another major factor in the fall of car imports because the cost of these cars increased despite the fact that over the past 3 years, car imports have seen consistent growth and seen large foreign exchange outflows from Pakistan. In 2015/2016, 2016/2017, 2017/2018 they amounted $325.62 million, $431.46 million, $456.19 million respectively.

For people blaming Japanese, you have no idea how the car industry works.

It's not Japanese selling you junk, it's a Pakistani company.

Pak Suzuki is a Pakistani company that was a licence to build or import Suzuki cars.
If pak Suzuki wants to sell you junk, Suzuki in Japan does not have much say.

Japanese build some of the best cars in the world, Pakistani companies build junk

Government is also responsible of stopping the Price gouge. Pakistan Suzuki can not charge consumers 3 times the price of car. Government need to enforce fair business regulation and Penalize those companies who are taking advantage of consumers. Government must create a competitive business environment so consumers can benefit from it.

allow all car makers to compete in pakistan

allow all car makers to compete in pakistan
There are only three companies. And by looking at their products one can easily derive conclusion that they have made a deal eith themselves. Suzuki has lower class,Honda has the middle and Toyota has the upper class matket.

Government should encourage private sector to invest in Korean cars by building them locally to give tough competition to Japanese car makers.

you cannot have just three companies and complain about lack of competition

Pakistan companies are happy in assembling these cars. They are not interested in acquiring the technology to build them locally. Iran may have an old technology but they are building their own brand for last 20+ years.

A third class Honda Civic 2019 worth 35 lakhs, Honda City 2019 worth 25 lakhs, Toyota Corrolla worth 30 lakh, such high prices.

Look at Kia Sportage and Audi best ever cars in Pakistan with great features and price tags.

Even when the sales are down 60% or more, they are still increasing prices!

When there is a downturn, product prices are usually reduced or other incentives offered to attract buyers.

It shows this auto industry is a cartel and its products are not geared towards consumers.
