Why only single engine planes?

Dual engine jets produce enough power to use more sensors protection systems and power full jammies and EW suits

But with single engine jet you can't carry more sensors etc so limitations comes even with entire capability of jet now most countries atleast have one twin engine jet to complement the requirements of airforce and give great flexibility for operations

Indonesia have no major disputes but still buying dual engine jets

It's a multi role. Not air superiority. The US. Considers the f16 inferior to f15 and even f14 & f18

Israel is wealthy enough and has an ally -- US -- that are willing to support it in spite of global opinions. Plus, given their national defense needs, they can afford to buy the F-15 THEN develop their doctrines. Am not going to get into geopolitical and moral debates on the US-Israel alliance. I will leave the forum's Israel members to do that. But I will say that from a military aviation power perspective, Israel needs the F-15 more than the F-16, and they got both, and that made them the dominant regional air power they are today.
F-15s are much more capable bombers than the F-16. We use them as "strategic bombers" when a shit ton of stuff needs to be bombed.

F-16s are also very capable but not as the F-15. In fact Israel decided to buy 25 more F-15IAs, which are based on the F-15EX, instead of ordering more F-35s or F-16s.
