RED DOT SIGHTS for Pakistan Army G3A3 and Chinese SMG

I believe the finest CQB sight today is the EOTech.

The EOTech sight is a true HUD, Head's Up Display, with a combining glass and technology similar to that of a fighter airplane.

Until you've used one (or a true HUD) it's hard to describe. First off, the reticle (actually looks like a fighter plane pipper) is focused at infinity. Your eyes naturally snap onto it, and when you overlay the pipper on the target, they are at the same focus. The housing of the sight, being at a near focus, simply disappears. It is as if you are seeing a reticle floating in open air.

Unlike cheap copies, nothing can be seen from the front. Nothing is projected to give away one's position to an enemy IR sight. And another problem with cheap copies is that they simply fail under recoil... not rugged enough.

There's no way to make these both cheap AND good. A decent sight is going to be $300 to $500 U.S. at a minimum.

Pakistan Army has decided in all its wisdom to buy the chinese sights over all others.

These sights are not in service anywhere in the world, only Pakistan Army will have this untried, untested piece of equipment.

These are to be supplied with fake UTG quad rails ( the real ones are made in USA) while these fakes come from china also.

Terrible decision by the Army who are not thinking about their soldiers lives who are on the line.

They could have looked at the problems they are facing with type 56 in the army at this time to realise that they shouldnt make the same kind of mistake again.

To be far pal if you look at it from the PA's POV it is a rational decision- quantity over quality. The PA is already facing an acute shortage of funds right now so why by a few 100 expensive western RD sights when you can get a few 1000 Chinese ones. They may not be as good but something is better than nothing right?

This means that Pakistan Army has switched its focus from the Aimpoint Red Dot Sight that is being used by the SSG and many of the army units. The Chinese Sight that is being offered by a local Pakistani company is among the 3 shortlisted after 4 days field and lab trials (see my first post here). I think that the US$100 Type-56 AK-47 deserves a US$50 'LY0001'??!! Chinese sight on it. But I will be seriously worried in case the same sight is going to be used on non-Chinese weapons. And I sincerely hope that the Air Force and the Navy does not lower their standards to do the same. However and like all Chinese equipment, the problems generally start until after the induction and during mass production. As the saying goes, if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys!!

I'd like to post the image of the selected Chinese Red Dot Sight here!! Can anyone let me know how to do that?

Its a possibility that we chose chinese option only because of financial reasons..... As taimi said above it cost 3000 in retail in bulk it might have cost 1500 or even less....which makes it 25 USD each rifle...... Just a speculation....

Anyway it reminded me of

Yaar what can red dot sight from china and west can have difference they are probably accurate same ...

Are you sure about that ?
They might use the laser for accurate shooting but than it gives away the position.
It's like shooting tracers.

one of them had laser , Grenade launcher too man ... I heard whole army has asked for scopes especially. No one wants a gun with Iron sights ... Slowly and gradually our army is getting good goodies.

25 USD per sight??? Wow that is cheap! Some sights in use by the West (and India) cost $300-500 USD a peice.

Well it was 'considered' to be qualifying firing at various ranges (25/50/100/200/500 yards) from the G-3 and AK-47. It also qualified the laboratory tests and trials. The red dot size is 3 MOA, it runs on standard AAA batteries. The sight was purchased for US$140 per piece, second was the Romanian Sight at US$190 and at third was the Aimpoint at US$340. All of these price ALSO INCLUDE THE SUPPLY OF A PICATINNAY RAIL FOR EACH WEAPON. Total purchased are 2500 red dot sights + picatinny rail.

Its available in Peshawar for Rs.3K-3.5K and some other options of Chinese origin also.

And Xyon, any details about its capability or performance ??

Bought a pictanny rail a Chinese copy of UTG, plus a hand grip with a bipod stand coming from under the grip, both for Rs.2300 and the Chinese aiming device will cost 3500, total package 5,800 and used American ACOG costs 8-10K, plus supposedly made in sweden Aimpoint costs 10K.

For me a 60-65 $$ deal, not bad :)

its really CHEAP! any tests about how good it works?

wow

Can you post a pic of all that furniture on your weapon for the sake of comparisons?
