I disagree. Huawei's phones are/were better actually and more popular. They will need alot of time and huge investments to come back from U.S sanctions. However, if they do succeed in making a comeback(something which is difficult to predict if they can achieve) then they will be even stronger and more resilient, way more than their other Chinese counterparts like Xiaomi/Oppo who all rely on western techs and are vulnerable to any change in mood of Washington, since they are still at the mercy/depend on the goodwill of the US

Nope won't happen. China benefits alot from apples huge investments there. They wont want to jeopardise their country's FDI climate by banning apple which will affect the hundreds of thousands of Chinese employed by apple and the countless other Chinese companies who are suppliers to Apple. If the Chinese wanted to ban apple, then they will have done so long ago since the US has been sanctioning Chinese companies for a while now. Ever wondered why the CCP hasn't taken any action against Apple or any major US company with huge investment there for that matter?

Xiaomi and Oppo are actually pretty safe because if US bans them from US market then China bans Apple from China market and they can't afford a trade war because the only winners will be European consumers and Samsung.

Xiaomi and Huawei totally different. Xiaomi is phone maker. Huawei is server maker. Xiaomi's counterpart is Apple. If US ban Xiaomi then China ban Apple and both countries will lose from trade war so neither will do that.

Because US most probably can't afford to ban more Chinese smartphone vendors.

When US cut supply to Huawei, many of US technology vendor like Qualcomm, micron, skyworks etc were disrupted, and Huawei smartphone is still alive until now - although loosing top 5 market position.

If US continue to do the same with Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo who control the biggest market share of smartphone, then it will also "kill" Qualcomm, micron, skyworks etc all together, while Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo still can be alive at least in China's market. Then the remaining chinese smartphone vendor like ZTE, Lenovo, TCL, 1+ etc will come out as the new international winners together with Exynos, Mediatek, and Unisoc YMTC, etc.

China won't ban Apple indeed, but China can ban Qualcomm, skywork, and micron instead. That means all the smartphone to be sold in China should not use qualcomm, skywork and micron anymore. This will push Apple, Samsung, and all chinese smartphone vendor to use alternative CPU-Micron-skywork-etc, and Chinese vendors and other vendors from Korea, Japan, etc will reap benefit from there, and US vendor will loose China's market
