STD tests should be conducted for both parties before marriage either way. Why specifically marriage? Because if you're not married you have no business having sex without wiener hat (which makes contracting any STD/VD very unlikely). But once you're married you deserve the joys of barebacking it, and then both parties most assuredly should get tests done.
