Whilst the US still cheers with their last generation supercomputers, now team from China University of Defence Tech told the media now there are 30+ partners have finish the testing job with their up-and-coming exa-scale supercomputer: Tianhe-3.
Tianhe-3 is one of the three exa-scale supercomputer under R&D in China, and are expected to be fully functional between 2019-2020.
Tianhe-3, just like the rest 2 exa-scale supercomputer in China, will use domesic high-performance computing processors, therefore it is require the parnter to modify and optimize their current computing programs to take full advantage of its tremendously yuuuuge computing resource.
According to the time schedule, the three exa-scale supercomputers China developing now will be the world first three exa-scale supercomputers.
Exa-scale supercomputers are rougly 10x faster than the bestest and fastest supercomputer the world have now, and will be one of the most, if not the most, significant performance leap-ahead in supercomputing history.
