Many countries practice this.. Russian surrogate mothers are some of the worst protected by law

...India has turned out to be the best place for Couple opting for a surrogate baby as many strict laws protecting both parties have been put in place..

IF u chose to follow practices that were made up centuries ago ..well thats ur predicament..

You guys are mean - Stop being so mean - These women are not doing it for fun - There are millions of poor women in INdia who can't afford a meal and this is the only way they can earn - No need to make fun of poor people.

Personally, I don't see what's wrong with it. The surrogate needs a bit of cash, she get's it. The couple needs a baby, they get one. If you look at it that way, it seems completely fine.

One of the counter arguments is that the surrogate mother shouldn't have to "let go" of her newly born baby as this can be very emotionally disturbing for them but as long as it's done properly and the volunteer's psychological condition is assessed before the procedure it should be fine. Also in the long term, when the child gets old enough, he/she may have some questions...

But if you're going to oppose surrogacy for that reason then you might as well oppose adoption...

i am a muslim too,and kuran clearly prohibits any type of pregnancies other than that between a husband and a wife.
however,islam allows one to do anything that will bring cure to one's ailing fellow beings.

That's how an open-minded person interprets. See that's why I told him, religion is there to guide, not to dominate everything one does. It is to guide and advise against doing wrong. Not to make someone's life living hell.

I think u didnt read it.......... in these cases the sperm donar is not a stranger but the husband whose sperm is taken by doctors out of which the working germs r inseminated into his wife through medical procedure......

Read:
the husband and wife are the biological father and mother also...

Insemination by a stranger is also not allowed in Islam or Pakistan.


Also i think donation of an egg is probably allowed in Islam .... but selling it for financial purpose isnt!

basically every religion is the same.

hinduism also widely talks about artificial insemination and surrogate mothers.
for example,in mahabharatha "gandhari" had her embryo cultured in 101 pots ,which led to the birth of her 100 sons and one daughter who later bacame the kauravas.
also,in mahabharatha itself,there was references of surrogate mothers(i don't remember the names".
