Posession aspect is most likely overblown due to lack of education and knowledge; mental illnesses/conditions being mistaken for posessions unfortunately.

Brain creates compartments and develops parallel personalities unknowingly to his consciousness. Some times they come out like this. This is normal not a Jinn.
