there must be punishment for this type of crimes.you can't take someone's life and call yourself innocent.it doesn't matter if it's a cat or dog.we must enforce strict laws.anyone who can even throw stones towards dogs should be punished immediately.

There is a female in India called Maneka Gandhi ( the estranged other daughter-in-law of the late Mrs. Indira Gandhi ) who after she became part of the BJP government in 1998 passed a law that municipal corporations should not kill stray dogs. Since then, dogs have increased hugely and cats have decreased to the point of almost extinction in most cities. Dogs kill cats, brutally. There is no more sadder a sound than a cat being tortured to death slowly by dogs.

At one point I had seven cats at my house, four children and three adults including the mother, all living in a half dome on the terrace. All were killed by dogs.

Some years ago for some months I was shooting at the dogs near my house with an air-rifle. It didn't kill them but it sure scared them.

It is a either-or situation. Either cats or dogs.

First thing I see when I get out on my cycle. Grotesque.

Does anyone know anything about this. Have you heard of similar rituals?

i completely agree with you.i have 12 cats in my home right now.i have lost lots of cats,i have saved many cats.a big cat was about to eat a small kitty but i saved him.he is now with us.i save a male cat who was thrown away by the dogs.his entire body was punctured but we saved him using 8 injections.he is also in my home right now.i know stray dogs can kill a cat but we should teach our kids not to throw stone towards them.religion doesn't allow dogs inside home but cats are allowed.i feel that there must be shelters for stray dogs.i have seen many stray dogs limping.i can't tell you how sad it's to see someone in pain.easy solution is to create shelters for animals and give dogs injections so that they can't bite anyone.

Some organization like PETA can establish an island reserve for the stray dogs, with designated food spots where the dogs can come and eat. Something like the water holes in wildlife forest reserves.

What a wierd thread. There is no indication in the original article that the woman intentionally ran the cat over. It seems to have happened accidentally.

Then it seems a lawyer who saw this happen demanded that the woman take the cat to a vet and the woman refused. The lawyer decided to file a report against the woman.

The woman probably should've taken the animal to the vet, however, I don't see why people are acting like the woman murdered some person with intent.

Anyways, I don't know what the chickens and cows and buffaloes did to us that their literal murder by the billions seems to not warrant any serious reaction, or calls for decades in prison.
