Vietnam got a giant and well developed sugar daddy called China, with high focus on development, trade and industrialization although sometimes become a bully, on other hand Bangladesh got a hyper paranoid giant as neighbor with racial and religious segregation as their current main policy. Good observation. Bd is in bad neighborhood just like Israel surrounded by enemy countries. As indian economy go down to toilet bd might suffer lot too. It will take many years of painful reform to bring back indian economy to growth and current government seems obsessed with Pakistan bd Muslim hindu etc etc. With 1.3 billion poor people i wonder how much india will damage bd in coming years.

Vietnam got lucky with china also so close to south korea and japan. Vietnam neighbors are rich educated and industrialized. Bd neighbor Myanmar is worse then third world and india is also another dirt poor third world.

BD does not really benefit from india due to its protection tarrif and paratarrif wall.

Our economies are not integrated. BD economy is unlikely to be impacted by indian slowdown.

Only logistics integration is cotton import. India suddenly wont have a collapse in its cotton production. Even here BD has diversified its import from CIS countries.

BD does not have the same scenario as vietnam but we should seek to learn from them wherever possible
