Are you saying islam has no links to the history of the region it comes from ? of course it has. From the arabic names you give your children, from the mandatory circumcision to the death rituals. All comes from the middle east and the oldest civilization there, Egypt.

Egyptian religious doctrines had three basic afterlife ideologies; belief in an underworld, eternal life, and rebirth of the soul.

They mummified the bodies to help the souls reborn into them or into new bodies.

Both islam and egyptian religion believe the souls get judged after death.

OTOH ancient Egyptian religion is more similar to Hinduism than islam.

If you can afford a tomb you get one, some gets mausoleums. Others get a grave. The fundamental concept is the same.

I agree. Wonderful intervention by Modi jee. Now please knock down the wasteful cow sanctuaries and cull the homeless cows. This would create space for plenty of useful buildings or farmland. The healthy cows would provide meat. Let's be pragmatic, I agree.

How is culling cows more beneficial than keeping them around ?

Cow urine and cow dung both have huge markets in India, as pesticides, fertilizers and in other commercial products like cleaners and even Ayurvedic medicines, some of which is known to cure cancer.

You can wait for it to die of old age and then eat its carcass. That is the way to be pragmatic and ethical.

It's fine if they could buy property for burial site. But it should have an environment study, burial sites can pollute ground water, there shouldn't be houses and surface wells in nearly half a Km around a burial site.

Don't need ALL of them for fertiliser/urine/ayurvedic medicine needs though do you? Two or three cows per small family farm is enough. I'm talking about the sanctuaries. Hundreds of cows are burdensome: they need fencing in, feeding, watering, cleaning. They cause road accidents when they escape.

Come on. Be pragmatic. If ethics of burying Muslims can be sacrificed for space for the living, the ethics of cow sanctuaries can be sacrificed for space for living human beings. Stop wasting resources on cows.
