Has anyone else noticed that in general Army chiefs in pakistan have been more inspirational and were able to gather large fan following despite no serious effort. Examples are Gen. Ayub khan, Gen. zia, , Gen. Musharraf etc. I am bit opponent of Musharraf though but I have to acknowledge that he did inspired many during his early years of take over. These days Gen. Raheel Sharif is getting more and more fan following despite no visible effort on this part. Gen. Ayub and Gen. Zia had huge fan following not just during their rule but even after their rule.
What is the reason behind it , could it be that people usually get inspired from leaders who carry more graceful personalities , have better manners, are more articulate, know how to deliver their message in more expressive and attractive manner. I personally have noticed that Army dictators of paksitan were better in all these aspects than most of our political leaders barring perhaps Zulfiqar Bhutto. Political heads of the parties or political heads of the state of paksitan are just not upto the mark. I think this is the reason why pakistan has seen so many dictatorships and democracy is so weak in pakistan.

Because to them.
Our nation matters.
But to politicians... its always the money that matters.

I want a leader to whom
Country matters.
not money and power...

It is not about what matters to them, they are just trained well to be articulate during their military training and pakistani politicians are lacking in the skill to be articulate because they have not learnt it, they did not come from grass route.

@qamar1990 , what is your opinion on this issue.

It is not about money , it is about lack of leadership qualities in pakistani political leaders as compared to military dictators, the problem is real , there is no exaggeration here.

People in Pakistan are fascinated by the exploits of Muslim rulers in the past in subcontinent. Despite their shortcomings they are held on a higher pedestal due to the sheer power they yielded. Similar is the case with the military dictators, Pakistanis are not willing to slave through the bad phase they are going through instead they are hoping that some messiah would rise one fine dandy day and take away their sufferings in a single stroke.

Military yielding a similar kind of power brings back the old memories of the Golden rule and the Dictator groupies find the military danda Inspirational.

Leadership qualities?
Yahya Khan - 71
Zia - Mujahideen Mess
Musharaf - Kargil

Major embarrassment faced by Pakistan was under military dictatorship and you saying that they have been trained to be articulate?

A person belonging to the northern part of the sub continent generally has a macho image of himself. This applies to both sides of the border ( whether it actually is is a different matter), they exert authority in their respective spheres small or big, respect ( fear ? ) authority and are naturally aggressive in thought & behavior.

In Pak , the army fits the bill for an army man is held in high esteem because of the authority he wields and represents.

In short, a bully respects a larger bully.

Add to this the ' savior' image the PA has created for itself which has put it on a high pedestal.

In contrast the politician is considered a wimp because he does not have the army either to show his strength through, add to this lack of democratic values and processes and the fact that the army has overthrown the Govt at will and nothing has been done about it.

My views.

This is your negative indian worldview of pakistan. Sitting in pakistan I don't subscribe to it.
