This is not how you develop or promote sports.. using this money .. build create grounds and atheletic facilities across India is how you do it. Just by building a bunch of stadiums in already crowded New Delhi does not improve things.

I totally agree with you... although it is not feasible to build stadia all around the country for the same sporting event ... but it could have been done in some other place other than Delhi... Delhi already had its share of sports infrastructure from the Asiad games... it should have been some other city where things could have been done much more peacefully and away from the pollution and hustle and bustle of a mega city.

we the people of India are responsible for it...and i am saying this not because we are critical of our own projects , but because we do not know our priorities.

forget the Govt.for a moment ,we as a people.especialy the middle class population are too enthusiastic when it comes to projecting powers of emrging India,forgetting that there are more important issues to be taken care of...man !! just think about it 70,000 cr.

if the purpose was to devlop new Delhi's infrastructure, they could have had beter infrastructure with much less amount.

before asking to hang kalmadi..ask yourselves what you want when you have rs.70,000 cr to spend..a common wealth games or improves things like poverty,education,food or development projects like colleges,defence researches or even better rail network.

On a serious note, I agree with you. Its a collective responsibility of all Indians. Had it been a great success, we all would have basked in its glory. Now that its becoming an embarassment of sorts, we must share the embarassmsnt too.

I do not agree. The first and foremost responsibility must lie on the head of the family.

After all, we elected a sane guy to be our PM, right? PM cannot look the other way while some buf00ns are pillaging the nation's pride.

Wow... calm down my friend. I'm merely quoting what was being said about the people who will be running the country..
It's all good to thump your chest & say we are this power & that power... but when it's the time to prove it to the world how good we are, we ended up looking like a laughing stock.
Today people & media outside india are not talking about what we are good at?? they are talking about how f$l*hy we are, how incapable of holding an event of this magnitude & how corrupt our leaders are. pictures of filthiness is allover the front page of promininent international media. image of the country is being battered badly.
We need to accept the reality & learn lesson from this mess. We need to accept the fact that we are taken to ride by bunch of jokers who fits my earlier description word to word.
