Who are the customers for rip-off products?

well depend on the product ,but for example I don't see why I must buy
branded clothes when I can buy non-branded ones for 1/10 of the price
even if the cheap one work only 2/3th of the life time of the expensive one

but when it come to the electronic products I'll buy the originals and more
importantly I'll stay 10 leagues away from Overpriced ,Underperformed and
Fancy looked products of Apple
There is a difference between local product with different name(a brand which you have never heard about) and a product which is fake.
The fake one is almost certainly bad, local one at least you can ask others and get some idea(and decide on that basis).
Nobody is suggesting you should buy expensive brands only.

Its not Chinese that are bringing this product into India or Pakistan its the importers they buy these products with the knowledge that they are fake.Importers bring these Goods into the market as there is a demand for it your comments about educated or uneducated people buying these goods is totally wrong i have been to new york few times where on the streets you can buy Rolex for 50 to 100 bucks (fake off course)and in the stores any where from 20,000 to over Quater of a million I assure u i have seen people in expensive suits buy the fake ones.

I am not disputing that happens but are they buying rip-off such as ROLES/ROIEX/ROL3X etc or cheap copy of ROLEX?

There are some products that you think are fake but are actually huge companies.

For example, people think that Wu Mart is a ripoff of Walmart, but Wu Mart pronounced is Wu Mei, but Walmart is Wo Er Ma - completely different. And Wu Mart is bigger than Walmart in China.

Agree. Wu Mart may not be ripoff of Walmart. But majority of the brands, in fact most of the brands do look like very similar to original. Who are the real customers for the rip-off brands?

Have never used a fake product and will never use one until the day i die, it is ripping off the artist that helped it design it. I look down upon the thieves that do use fake products.

Oh, come on, although my rich friends buy the rip-offs, they indeed have bought many of the originals for ten tousands of Euros. But most people who buy the rip-offs cannot afford to buy the original anyway. So the artist has not lost anything.

If I steal your car or your orange, you would be unable to drive the car and eat the orange anymore. Is the artist not in the posession of the idea anymore? Is he going to not be able to make a penny anymore? people are steel buying the original Hermés and Ferragamo bags, in fact, an insider of the luxury branch once told me that the fakes are as a matter of fact gratis advertisment for them. Fake buyers may not have the money now, but in the future they might have the money and they will certaily buy the original one.

trust me that is not how top label houses market or intend to market. Its unfair to people who fork out top money for top brands and to the companies that have their ideas copied and knocked off. lets say you made a product and you are selling...how would you feel if someone else copied it and starts selling it?

I have to come up with better and newer products all the time and not rest on my laurels. That's how comapnies like Dior, Hermés, Gucci, Armani, Rolex, Lange & Söhne, but also Bosch, BMW, Mercedes are successful.

Great now we have a "German" guy justifying fake products.

Should I show you German debates on the copyrights?

Here is a link with a list of articles and debates.

copying items illegally causes companies and individuals to lose a lot of money each year. Its 2012 and these should stop. Blatantly copying someone else's product with cheaper materials is just stealing.
