What is the current status of development and date of serial production?

The current status is still undergoing certification test inside the country. The certification is projected to be finished this year. Currently the planes have flown for 230 hours where the certification test needs 300 hours flying time. There are two flying prototypes currently and at least there is 1 prototype being produced for static test (not flying).

I can say the cargoes industry is the one which could be the plane biggest market. Both Garuda and Lion Air has their own cargo business division and from what I see they have huge need on the plane, particularly by seeing the rapid growing of Indonesian e-commerce industry that prospers our logistic companies.

The intention of Lion Air to buy 100 N 219 planes for instant will not logically be intended for passenger planes, it must be for cargo planes as Lion Air also has developed service similar like Fed Ex and they also IMO prepare the planes to be used for other cargo/freight forwarder companies.

And at the mean time, N 219 has successfully passed birth strike test on N 219 glass cockpit. The test took place in LAPAN (Indonesia Space Agency)

PTDI made some sort of promotion to show the interior of the plane for passenger configuration. It must be the second flying prototypes.
