At the same time, Pakistani officials know as well as anyone that Trump's options -- like those of his predecessors, and despite his rhetoric -- are limited. The question is how to deploy them for maximum effect.

I like how the answer is right there under the headline.

So the reader doesn't have to waste any more time.

The US policy makers are suffering from "autism" - can't see what they don't want to see!!!! As if Taliban folks are so fool as to put all of their eggs into the same basket!!!! As if they don't control >40% of Afghanistan already - and, that too with significant areas bordering CARs!!! As if Russia, China etc. are looking to DC for their own interests!!! As is they have signed a bond of "permanent slavery" to abide by $only international trade/investment/transactions etc.!!! As is they are so "concerned" about Pak/Taliban etc. that they have stopped building OBOR!!! As if Hindi boys can single-handedly crush China provided Kashmiri freedom fighters are tamed!!! As if NK isn't blasting staffs incrementally more dangerous by every passing day!! And, "embarrassing" the Pak army top brass with targeted individual sanctions - it's hilarious!!!!

Anyone with half-a-brain already knows this. Certain nitwits are going to continue with their delusions. It's cute.

Nothing....Rather I am surprised the tendency of Pak establishment to tolerate US and their dictate for such a long time..

Pakistan needs US more than US needs pakistan.

Us needs pakistan for Afghanistan but pakistan needs US for many things
