What Islam Says About Music - By Sheikh Shady Al-Suleiman

Zavvy, Islam, barring the nuSuuS-the axioms- almost always gives quite disparate responses to questions. Though some opinions apparently endorse music, or certain kinds of it, it might be universally accepted that it is a better plane of being to avoid music.

Anyway, Shady sahib needs to go on a diet!

Which is best OS? What is islamic view about that?
Good question, but will the various OS makers be willing to share technical knowledge to the muftiyuun for the latter to arrive at their opinion, and will the latter be able to comprehend the technical aspects.

Coming to less involved technical aspects, you could look at user-friendliness, aesthetics, work throughput etc in order to opine. There's always the first principle of the sharii3ah to fall back on "make ease and remove harm". That puts Windows out of market for causing misery to millions!

There are financial things to consider too for any software - has it been obtained in a Halaal manner? Piracy is totally out. That will leave most of us OS-less!
