Only the doors and the engine are borrowed from peugeot 405 , the rest are as tough and loud as any other british carThe origins of the Samand lie with a license-built British car. But isn't it today a totally new and in-house design?

Diesels might not necessarily be quick, but they are more efficient than Petrol engines, due to their inherent design (Higher compression etc) and as such give good mileage. If you don't mind the 'Diesel noise' then it's the way to go. German diesels are nearly as quite as local south asian petrols. Plus they are cleaner for the environment too.
it really depends who you really ask , i forgot which car tiba was , but you're right overall quality has dropped since foreigners have left , but they might return with the new president in placeHow good/bad is the reputation of the newer Samands? And the Tiba? I read somewhere the other day that their quality took a beating after the foreign manufacturers were forced to leave Iran due to sanctions.

Well my personal opinion is to go for the petrol version as it is more maintainence friendly like our mate @sreekumar has pointed out above. But then again it's upto you whether you wanna buy petrol or diesel oneNow that the difference between Petrol and Diesel price have come down to Rs.5.30 per litre, I would like to seek your opinion point wise regarding buying a new Car(though I am not considering buying one now, just opinions). Petrol or Diesel of the same type of Car, i.e buying a Petrol Dzire or Diesel Dzire??

I have both a couple of diesel and a couple of petrol cars, i prefer the diesel ones for long journeys (which i do a lot) while we used the petrol ones for in city driving.as long as you do not want to travel long distances often i would advice the petrol cars, as they are cheaper to maintain , once diesel cars have crossed 1 lac kms they need a lot of attention.

I have a V6 skoda superb , its great for long drives (as long as they are express ways)Good point, but give me a big ol' gasoline V-8 any day for any kind of driving and I am happy.![]()
