entrepreneurs from bd have been selling furnitures pharmaceuticals, jute products etc. there was a report on this in channel I newsPlease expand on what we sell to the zionist entity, i lack knowledge in this aspect.
As i said ruthless self interest.... if we gain recognise them otherwise maintain status quo.
So we should recognise the Zionist entity just because we unintentionally sold them some chaddis throw a third party?
And ignore all the evil it is pulling to undermine our national interest?
Wah.. wah....
No, we should normalise our relationship with Israel to get rid of our dubious double standard. We absolutely have no reason to not have a normal relationship with Israel.
They haven't done anything that has gone against our interest.
If we can send workers to KSA, a country that have been regularly bombing and killing Muslim men, women and children's men of Yemen. If we can have diplomatic relationship with Pak- a country that killed millions of Bengalis, if we can have diplomatic relationship with China- a country that keeps its Muslim citizens in cages just like animals, if we can have diplomatic relation with Myanmar that just pushed 1 million refugees into our country then we can definitely have a diplomatic relationship with Israel as well.
Problem is KSA and gulf countries will punish you and start shipping back those BD workers = remittance decline...because it means you are trying to put big boy pants on (recognizing israel) and thus status quo w.r.t BD relations with GCC is shifted (especially after deployed diplomat efforts and history on both ends to have BD workers in GCC).
BD will never do it for that reason alone....not this early anyhow. You will need to become far more wealthier and relevant first to pursue one iota of independent foreign policy.
They won't 'punish' us. They are good friends with the Israelis. However, they are hypocrites, they must appear pious and looking out for Muslims' interests around the world, so that may be a reason if they ever decide to 'punish' us.
In any case BD has absolutely nothing to gain from a relationship with Israel. Israel doesn't sell anything that can't be gotten elsewhere.
They haven't done anything that has gone against our interest.
They are "frenemies" with Israel no doubt....but they wont have you changing status quo as meek OIC member....you dont have diplomatic/economic heft and they dont want any precedent set by letting you do that....because the house of cards gets more shaky after that in the anti-israel recognition alliance (going so far as even passport/visa stamps of israeli visit not allowed in).
"They" just expect 2 things from you, cheap labour and full following of diplomatic relations/recognition script....in exchange for steady remittance stream, initial recognition and acceptance into the system after 1971 and some token support for your local concern issues like Rohingya.
Yes they are full hypocrites (like most things in geopolitics generally, especially over time drift), but they still have the chips that can hurt BD much more for now....so BD will play ball whatever its own govt/people take on the issue overall. We can maybe revisit and see 10, 20 years down the line if the dynamics have changed enough.
Yeah I agree, the Arabs specially the Saudis are really in to the fetish of playing the "Leaders of ummah". They love the feel that the lowly al-hindi (subcontinent muslims) are following their lead and honestly we are the ones who gave them that, They could easily be kicked in their arse and put in their place ideologically at least by muslims of the subcontinent. They found a miracle wealth and we have found ourselves in abject poverty as a result of colonialism which makes it worse for us.
I am a firm believer that BD and Pakistan should make every move to ensure that our poeple don't have to go to those deserts to make a few bucks and our economies don't depend on them. Unfortunately our leaders don't have the vision as yet. We will require a Mujib reincarnate for that.
Its fine, those of you that go there to remit some of the oil money back so it can help your country invest/operate...play a crucial role in forming the long term economy down the road....and hopefully are remembered well in future (when things have progressed and gotten lot better). Relations with israel will not offset that since you need to have something Israel could do for you in hard terms to make it worth it (and really its not that much compared to remittance levels). Basically it only enters the equation down the road for BD to consider more....timings on such things have to be meaningful and done well.
It is about balance....get what you can now, invest in yourself over time....and become better than these folks when oil is not valued so much, you have your own economic base without it, the oil simply runs out etc (whatever combination of that, or whatever comes first etc) Then you can bargain better with more of the "last laugh" and your own economic resilience.
Think long term and succeed.....the abuse and humiliation now has to be made worth it ...but later and at time and place of your choosing. It is just hard to do in practice because each year/decade is lot of time too for our lifetimes...but it must be kept in mind too. The UK joked about and looked down upon newly independent USA for longest time (and fought it again in 1812 and then tried exacerbate split in it in 1860s)...guess who ended up having real last laugh in the 20th century? Work hard, make the best of situation and most of all keep learning and bettering your country/society goals....the rest (that we all crave today right now) will come with it....but you gotta commit to process fully with as little emotion/distraction as possible....given how far behind we all are overall here.

In March 2011, Aryeh Yosef Gallin, founder and president of the Root and Branch Association — a nonprofit group that promotes cooperation between Israel and other nations — expelled Choudhury from its Islam-Israel Fellowship after reports surfaced that the Bangladeshi had bilked “emotionally vulnerable single Jewish ladies” out of tens of thousands of dollars.
‘He had swindled not just two ardent Jewish supporters but everyone in the Zionist and counter-jihad movement who believed in him’

This is not about getting NOC from Arab. Actually Arabs are now playing buddy-buddy with Israel due to geo-political interests. While Non Arab Muslim countries like Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia are criticizing Israeli policy vis a vis with Palestinian. Recognizing Israel would be a huge controversial topic in Bangladesh. In the last 10 years, Israel repeatedly massacred defenceless civilian population in besieged Gaza. Those news and images were widely circulated in Bangladesh through social media. There are genuine anger against Israel.Everyone wants to Normalize relationship with Israel, but they are not gonna get NOC from the Arabs.![]()
