Like I said, it's a stupid argument. (Though Indians no doubt will all jump at it, that is their mindset towards their neighbours).

To be a "colonialist", you need to establish "colonies". Obviously, that is the primary definition.

I'm not against the AID given by China to the African nations, but the after processes i mentioned is very questionable.

but there are other dimentions to this too and i think the policies of few african nations are also to be responsible for the current situation...
remember when JRD TATA comes to india from france to setup a steel fectory , india won't allow him to export , even the domestic demand was very low , the result is that when after so many years today we need steel we are self reliance ...
the opposite has taken place in africa where chinese are allowed to take away the african resources and it's the same thing planned in pakistan and strated to taken place in sri lanka and bangladesh will to jumpin too...

There is nothing altruistic about what China is doing in Africa. Africans dont appreciate being taken for a ride. Everytime anything valuable was found in Africa, poor Africans suffered. China is no different from past colonial masters, although circumstances and methods of exploitation have definitely changed.

No act is ever truly altruistic.

China is different to past colonial masters in that China is trading for goods and resources not looting.

What did China do about Dafur? Looked the other way when mobs were carrying out genocide.

And if they did do something, people like you would complain and say that China is becoming bold and assertive and a threat to the world.

China only needs resources to fuel its fast growing economy, others be damned. Africa gives what China needs, and China simply takes that!

How is that different to any other country?

I'm not against the AID given by China to the African nations, but the after processes i mentioned is very questionable.

Its up to the governments and people of Africa if they want China's investments or not, at the end of the day its clear tat china is not there on a humanitarian effort and its for the oil, resources and access to the market.

Ultimately if Africa's political leaders do not get their act together the nation will suffer regardless of who is "investing". This day and age no one will pump in billions without getting something more in return. If Africa had better leaders they could turn China's keen investments into something that will benefit the nation after all the resources are in their country and they have the upper hand.

Humanitarian Aid does nothing in Africa, decades of western AID and still the country remains backward. Anyway all countries are in it for themselves, Britain was sending shipments of tear gas to Libya until the day of the Air Strike. At the end of the day its just business.

India on the other hand, oppenly supports LTTE terrorists that kill innocent civilians, and hosts separatist groups from China as well. They also supported the Mukti Bahini separatist group in Pakistan. What a great neighbour.
