Separatist nonsense is prevalent in just 6-7 districts of the valley. Rest Jammu and Ladakh has always been pro-India infact seperation from Kashmir was always been a demand of Ladakhi people.

You see, we don't want to do the same mistake that Pakistan did in 1971. East Pakistan was poorly guarded and hence the quick defeat of Pakistan. We have our reasons for military presence in Kashmir. We don't trust you guys.

The people of Ladakh themselves wanted to be UT so as to preserve their culture and benefit from the development like anywhere else in India. Its been a longstanding demand, nothing new. It became the first Buddhist majority territory of India. Good change.
