According to this table, Pakistan has had a cost of about 2.08 trillion rupees from 2004-2009 (almost $30 billion, according to the old dollar-rupee exchange rates from 2004-2009).

If you include the costs from 2001-2004 & 2009-2011, the total cost from the War on terror should be at least equal to if not higher than $68 billion. Pakistan has only received about a quarter of that amount as a form of 'aid'. Meaning Pakistan has operated at a net loss of almost $50 billion for fighting America's war on terror. And Indians think Pakistan needs US 'aid' to survive, pathetic.

This report though printed by IMF has used Pakistani official figures as the source. Read the subtext below the table

Besides your calculation is wrong. Total losses b/w 2004 -2009 were 2082.94 Billion PKR equal to $ 24.5 Billion at the exchange rate of 85.

Before 2004 ..Pakistan hardly suffered any losses due to WOT and this can be ascertained from the fact there were only 189 WOT related deaths in 2003 as compared to 11704 death in 2009.

So that leave out only the year 2010 and first few month of 2011.

Are you telling me you suffered a loss $7.9 Billion(677.9 B / 85) loss in 2009 but $43.5 Billion($68 B - $24.5 Billion) loss in next one and half year?

Pakistan incurred a lot of 'human losses' prior to 2004, when the Al-Qaeda leadership infiltrated from Afghanistan into Western Pakistan; which resulted in huge amount of people having to flee, & this is accounted in indirect losses as well. The direct losses come with the loss of life, the indirect losses are much very poignant to look at as well. So everything else you're saying is pretty much wrong.

How would they know if it is credible or not ..unless some one calculates each and figure on their own..they can not find it is right or wrong ..they just reprinted your govt figures..and as you know from your experience your govt has been exaggerating figure s far WOT is concerned..thats why asked for

If you compare the figures posted by finance.gov.pk & the ones used by the IMF, they are very similar.

Let's compare the figures:

2008-09:

IMF: 677.793 billion rupees
finance.gov.pk: 720.6 billion rupees

2007-08:

IMF: 484.36 billion rupees
finance.gov.pk: 434.1 billion rupees (underestimated)

So let us 'fill up the missing years (2001-04 & 2009-11)' of the IMF stats with finance.gov.pk data, as the estimates of the IMF & finance.gov.pk are close enough. According to finance.gov.pk's figures, Pakistan has incurred losses of $13.56 billion in 2009-10, & $17.83 billion already in 2010-2011.

The losses added in these 2 years alone are about $31 billion. From 2004-2009, Pakistan incurred $30 billion losses. That's $61 billion from 2004-2011. From 2001-2004, Pakistan has incurred losses of about $7 billion. So that is exactly $68 billion losses Pakistan has had to incur from this WOT till today.

Especially when only Pakistan has received about $17 billion 'aid' from the WOT, even (supposing the losses to be $40 billion instead of $68 billion) losses of $40 billion result in net $23 billion losses for Pakistan for fighting the US's WOT.
