Vietnamese movie “Furie” about a martial artist’s rescue of her trafficked daughter has been bought by a U.S. distributor for release on March 1.
Ngo Thanh Van, an A-list actress who starred in and produced the film, and Well Go USA Entertainment recently signed an agreement for showing the movie in the U.S.
The action-packed thriller will be screened in a number of cities soon after its premiere in Vietnam on February 22.
The Vietnamese name of the movie is "Hai Phuong", while its English title is "Furie". Ngo Thanh Van, also known as Veronica Ngo, said she is overjoyed and hopes to introduce Vietnamese culture to the world through her movies.

Well Go USA Entertainment has released many Asian films in the U.S., including Chinese martial arts movie Ye Man 3 and Korean blockbusters Train to Busan and Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds.
It recently bought the rights to Korean director Lee Chang Dong’s Burning.
Furie, directed by Le Van Kiet, tells the story of a woman from the Mekong Detla whose daughter has been kidnapped. She embarks on a journey to find her against all odds and the bad guys.
The movie is certified 18+ due to its violence.
Furie will compete for the Grand Prix and Most Promising Talent Award in the Osaka Asian Film Festival next month.
