Because VN needs ballistic missiles with a range up to 3000-3500 km in order to be able to strike targets all the way to Beijing,
Land based. Also need long range cruise missiles such as the Nirbhay of course.

I believe Brahmos and Nirbhay are about the same size right? Around 9 meters long I think. Those 2 are a beast, definitely a bit large for many platforms.

I look forward to Brahmos M, that size can fit in so many platforms, can carry 3 in a jet and at mach 3.5, that baby is going to rock.

Bro, the BrahMos submarine version is meant for VLS, and there is no VLS in Kilo-class. All Kilo-class needed torpedo tube launch cruise missile.

The BrahMos underwater version is for SSGN purpose, mainly for S-2 and S-3, when S-4 and S-5 become operational.

The other day I was looking at the Amur that Russia is offering to India with an 8 cell Brahmos VLS and a new generation AIP. That baby looks nice.
