TOKYO -- Vietnam’s manufacturing sector expanded at its fastest pace in more than seven years thanks to strong orders and output, bucking the trend of slower growth elsewhere in the world, according to a survey.

The headline Nikkei Vietnam Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index, or PMI, rose from 53.9 in October to 56.5 in November, surging further above the 50-point line separating expansion from contraction.

The reading was the highest since early 2011, when the survey was launched.

New orders increased sharply, encouraging manufacturers to increase production. The rate of output growth quickened to the fastest since March 2011. Business sentiment was at the highest level since February 2016, signaling further growth in the sector.

“The Vietnamese manufacturing sector continued to defy recent signs of slowing demand elsewhere in the global economy during November,” said Andrew Harker, Associate Director at IHS Markit, which compiles the survey.

Despite huge China’s investments, friendship and warm words both Thailand & Malaysia manufacturing sectors are in free fall. What’s happening?

Not surprising. There are certain people in Malaysia that believe in entitlement. Malaysia government do not have enough people (from a certain community) that are dedicate to the progress of Malaysia. Mahathir is the best PM for Malaysia but he is over 93 years old. Is there another leader (from a certain community) dedicated to Malaysia future? Right now Malaysia import cheap labor and export brains. I hope Vietnam overtake Malaysia than people here will wake up.

Thai rely so much on exporting car to US, but US threatening car impoted wt high tariff now, so Thai got free fall.thats it.

CN aslo export nation, she can not buy more car from Thai, so CN investment actually useless, too.

Thailand exports cars mostly to ASEAN I believe. The US market is controlled by Japan car makers.Toyota and the likes everywhere. I traveled recently to America. Vietnam car industry is still too weak, she should try to snap some of 2,500 factories m from Thai car industry :partay:

The US is Thailand's largest export partnerand the third-largest supplier after Japan and China. Although traditionally Thailand's major markets have been North America, Japan and Europe, economic recovery witnessed by Thailand's regional trading partners also helped boost growth in Thai export. The country has also increased its exports in some of its non-traditional export markets, including India, China and the Middle East.

That is the total trade. I mean how many cars Thailand exports to America?

They export car parts. Example the Honda Civic engine is made or assemble in Thailand. Then exported to England to be assembled into the car then the car exported to US.

There are no Thai cars in the United States, you mutant. Do you mean parts or American cars assembled by Thais? They barely earn anything off of that.

No wonder you're poor.
