Nov. 25 (Bloomberg) -- Vietnam plans to continue building roads and schools to assert sovereignty on islands also claimed by China while moving to stifle any protests that display false patriotism, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said.

Vietnam will expand its presence on the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea and seek talks on the Paracels now occupied by China, Dung told the National Assembly today. The government also urged the legislature to pass a law on demonstrations after “signs of disorder” earlier this year, he said.

“We ask to keep the status quo, without further complications that may affect regional peace and stability,” Dung said. While the government “appreciates, welcomes and praises” any act of patriotism it will “discourage and tackle in accordance with law” any act that pretends to show patriotism, he said.

The Philippines, Vietnam, China, Malaysia and Taiwan have troops on the Spratlys, a group of islands and reefs with a total land area equivalent to 1 1/2 times the size of New York’s Central Park spread over an area roughly the size of Iraq. Vietnam occupies the most islands in this group, Dung said.

Chinese vessels in May sliced cables of a survey ship doing work for Vietnam and in March, Chinese ships chased away a ship working for U.K.-based Forum Energy Plc off the Philippines. The incident sparked anti-China protests in Vietnam that the government eventually quashed.

Vietnam and the Philippines have pushed China to redraw its maritime boundaries according to the United Nations Law of the Sea, a move that would cost it large swathes of its claims in the waters. Under the law, maritime claims stem from occupation of islands.

Oil reserves in the South China Sea, which contains two disputed island chains, may total as much as 213 billion barrels, according to Chinese studies cited in 2008 by the U.S. Energy Information Agency. The Paracels are fully controlled by China, which ousted fellow claimant Vietnam from the 30 islets and reefs in a 1974 battle in which 71 soldiers were killed.

Vietnam calls on youth to contribute to Truong Sa

The Vietnam People’s Navy is cooperating with the Central Youth Union to organize a “youth journey for our motherland’s seas and islands” from May 6 to May 17.

Tuoi Tre had an interview with Senior Lieutenant Colonel Do Minh Tuan, head of youth department and deputy head of the journey about youth and their contribution towards cementing Vietnam’s sovereignty over islands and seas.

Islands and seas of Vietnam are spread along the country so if we utilize their strengths, the economy could hugely benefit. We have many projects to develop seas and islands but with the state’s limited sources, developing them meets many obstacles.

TT: If each young citizen donates a rock or a handful of soil to Truong Sa (Spratly) islands, people living there and army officers stationed there could have a better life?

The Party and State pay attention to islets and islands small and large including those of Truong Sa. Some large islands like Son Ca are heavily influenced by big tides which could sweep over landmarks that assert Vietnam sovereignty.

Meanwhile, we have some islands that are still submerged under sea level but which some foreign countries claim to own and where some foreign countries always want to plant flags.

TT: Have the navy had specific programs?

The Vietnam People’s Navy has not officially carried out the program but I have suggested the Vietnam Youth Federation about this. Each pebble, each soil will contribute to protecting the sovereignty over islands.

No doubt, I still don't know why China is bothering with us and fight with us. We don't need this kind of bullsh*t. They are opening doors for the white men to be more powerful. Even when they take these islands with oil underneath, the oil will not sustain them forever. When they take out all the oil, what are they going to do next? To be honest, Vietnam does not need oil. There are renewable energy sources out there that hasn't been exporered yet. Russia has paved the path to nuclear fusion. It's safer and more reliable then nuclear fission. We must learn it and build to utilize this kind of technology.

It is truly China that goes against Vietnam and did not respect our boundaries. Not only Vietnam be the candidate but the Philiphines as well. It does not take a scientist to know that China is in no position to wage a war. Sometime it makes me wonders, who actually run China? Definately not Chinese.

Please don't interject racism into the controversy. The "white man" has nothing to do with this conflict. It is strictly a "yellow man's" and "brown man's" affair. Obviously, racist thinking is not the sole preserve of the "white man".

No one has yet found a safe and economical method of containing nuclear fusion reactions so that useful power may be generated. And, one cannot realistically expect that such reactors, if ever perfected, will be any safer than nuclear fission systems. All energy generating methods have risks and downsides. Even hydroelectric power has its risks to the environment and causes the displacement of people and communities.

Just know vietnamese have developed a high quality FPS game 7554,it looks great, well done.
it haven't release yet bcz it have some bugs such as the Easy mode even harder than COD mw3 veterant level :girl_wacko:,or player run too slow etc so they had to delay for one more month to fix those bugs.

I already order this game, the price roughly 10 USD

This is what we call it the "white lie". You're not involved with it directly, but you're involved with it indirectly. Nuclear fusion is safer than fission because it does not emit high level of radiation. Thanks for the lesson.
