Isn't this a little bit over the top ? It sounded to me like she was trying to explain why that guy was insecure/rude albeit she did it poorly.Still,prosecuted ? Come on,there are people with "behead those who insult..." signs walking around the UK.

Ive definitely seen much worse things being said both in real life and on youtube as well. Doubt this will lead to anything. The woman choose very wrong words no doubt but given that we dont know how this conversation began I dont think we are in a position to make judgements unless we know the full story.

Living and working with them---I have a little better grip on how they talk. We were also the slaves of the british for two hundred years----why don't we talk like that---. For blacks----it is always a case of drama---slavery was a long time ago and this generation is as clueless abut slavery as anyone else---.

See---if someone said that to me---I would stop listen and try to understand what they meant---because our behaviours are judged by others.

But nobody dare judge the black people behavior---biggest drama queens.

Mastan, south asians weren't "slaves" in the traditional sense. However, south asians were certainly "subjects" of British rule. It's an important distinction and technical one that needs to be made clear. British did use Africans as slaves. The Portuguese in Goa and Dutch did use slave trade transporting Africans to India however not sure to what extent they employed local slaves. If someone has more information on this do share.

Something I told my Indian friends who were a bit too open with the "Chinky" calls and facial feature comments when referring to the Chinese; If you think that just because you are sticking to your language in racist remarks that you will not be caught...you are sorely mistaken. Surely enough, a few days later one of them was reported by a Japanese fellow at a restaurant for passing racist remarks and ended up at the police station.

This is a Pakistani problem too. We call them chaptay along with the Indians even though they are our allies. In UAE hatred is even worse and against our own people-the pathans though at times mallus too. Pathans though are always victims of snide comments and are mocked as gay. Everyone mocks them.

I think people of South Asia have a major superiority complex. They feel they are superior to everyone else. Blacks in India complain of severe discrimination and some black students were some months ago bullied by "Bharat mata ki jai" uttering mobs.

I think the issue here can be split in two parts:

1 - She choose her wording very poorly and offended
2 - Some countries in the West have taken this "racist" card and are overdoing it

I wonder if he called her "white" and implied that some of her "ancestors" where slaves (and some probably where, taking in to account the spread of slavery in Europe)...would everyone be so scandalized and the African dude arrested?
