Because its a middle income Country with a per capita of 10K compared to the west which has 40-60K . Also China doesn't provide the same level of freedom to them . They will end up in jail if they say anything against the government . Overall its the quality of life which is vastly superior in the west .

You find expats in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh too. That means nothing. These guys were basically losers in their own countries and take up hardship assignments for a fat cheque. Few talented westerners relocate to Asian countries because of their love for Asian societies. Forget the exceptions. Not one would give up their western nationality.
