And for such a large population public transit even the most effecient kind (underground trains) would never work. It would be overwhelmed. Fun fact, the tax on airline ticks now makes the cost twice the original from Pakistan. They slapped a lot of taxes.

Had the auto-mafia who enjoys state protection localized manufacturing instead of kept assembling despite enjoying incentives, the exchange rates wouldn't have much effect on them. It's time to reduce the duties on below 1300cc imported vehicles and put this mofo mafia in grinder who have been ripping Pakistanis by selling tin boxes at premium prices. They should either localize, improve quality and be competitive to survive or get out of business, why common man should be forced to buy substandard, unsafe tin boxes at ripoff prices?

It's a failure of Government policy. They exploited it, and our policies neither gave them incentives and advantages for local production nor put any restrictions on them.

But... that's advantageous to Government. Taxes on imported cars are much more high.
