US had rejected Indian concerns over Pak nukes: WikiLeaks
Updated 32 minutes ago
KARACHI: Wikileaks has revealed that the US had made it clear to India that Washington was satisfied with measures taken by Islamabad to secure its nuclear weapons, and these measures had increased the US confidence in Pakistan. India had stressed that Pakistan’s nuclear weapons were in danger of falling into the hands of terrorists.

A cable was sent by US Ambassador in India, David Malford from New Delhi to Washington on 27, November 2009. The cable mentioned details of the strategic security dialogue held between Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security, Alan Tauscher.

According to the cable, Nirupama Roa said that India was at risk from dangers stemming from Afghanistan and Pakistan. Therefore, India had to increase its nuclear capabilities in order to match the nuclear threats from Pakistan, the cable quoted Roa. Alan Tauscher assured the Indian Foreign Secretary that Pakistan had assured the US that its nuclear weapons are safe.

The head of the National Nuclear Security Administration John Gerrad, who was also present during the dialogue, stressed that in recent talks between the US and Pakistan, Islamabad’s measures to secure its nuclear weapons had increased Washington’s confidence.

Looks like India was right again, after OBL raid, many world media questioned if terrorist could get Pakistan nukes.

India 1 - 0 USA

November 2009..US had rejected Indian concerns over Pak nukes!

June 2011..US themself are most concern over Pak nukes !!

India & Indians actually don't miss a single opportunity to show Pakistan in bad light. They will talk sweet so that you will never know what is in their hearts.

It is all cosmetic, the fact is, Pakistan's nukes worry the US more than they do India.

But what is amusing here is how the US plays Pakistan with nothing but words. Hillary Clinton came out to say "We will bomb Pakistan", and oh! Pakistanis were so furious. Just a month later Hillary said "We need to appreciate the efforts and sacrifices Pakistan is making in WoT", and I remember the way Pakistanis were happily lapping it up. Another month passes by and Hillary comes out with another statement "Pakistan better get its act together or we will be forced to push it (WoT) inside Pakistan"... Pakistanis furious again.

Here, I am not ridiculing Pakistanis, all I am saying is - it is your fault that you value words more than acts.

Hillary's criticism created bigger ripples in Pakistan than did the showering of missiles in NWFP. Similarly, her appreciation of Pakistan's efforts got more attention than the much needed US's donation during the flood crisis.

If it stays this way, you won't even know what came and hit you. Not because it would fast and stealthy, but because you will have your eyes and ears blocked.

The report says it is about a cable of 2009.Lot of things have changed in 2 years, and this old report, even if it is true has very less credibility nowadays.
Specially, after attacks like that of PNS Mehran,we all know how much vulnerable Pakistani nukes are.
