I don't understand this 4 gen fighters theory . INDIA still produce more capable Sukoi 30 MKI than what ever Chinese copy cat fighter jets . And wars are not only fought with home built fighters . IAF is capable of thwarting any misadventures and we will close the gab as soon as MK2 , MMRCA , AMCA FGFA enters the service so this argument won't stand. For you kind information China still want to but 4+ gen fighter Su35 from Russia so what's the difference between India and China in this field ?

And again Indian missile systems are behind China but not far behind. Now India operating world's fastest cruise missile which China only can dream of . Our Agni 5 is a huge text book success which is launched from a truck , our SLBM is k4 is ready with much needed long legs . So what else ? Pinaka is been improved to make it more lethal and sleek .

In other words the US is asking India to further its own interests and policies, without ever thinking about the risks involved and their consequences on the Area...for some weapons that were proven very efficient against... civilians and some very limited nuclear technologies.
China won't allow any kind of Indian hegemony in South East Asia. They have gotten very aggressive with the US itself everytime it wanted to test the waters. So, does not the US wants to be replaced in that role? And what is better than a 1 billion populated nation to do that...? at its own expense.(while hoping for some high tech).

We can do a lot about Pakistan, it's just that Pakistan does not pose a serious threat to India. So we are not concerned about Pakistan.

China is the real threat for us & for every peace loving nation in SE Asia and South Asia, except Pakistan.

Which part is dream ? We already test fired K4 only gov't knows how may testing carried out . We own world's only fastest cruise missile. LCA 1 started production . LCA 2 AMCA FGFA are not dreams but under development projects . Now compare it with Chinese 5th projects . They probably asked for PakFa instead of Su35 I think. But Russians might have backed of as India will have no meaning to buy products which will be under Chinese . For this possibility we opted for FGFA and AMCA . Remember LCA is not JF17 or J7 kind of fighter . Delta wing configuration gives LCA few advantages as well. It's light but multi roll fighter . More than enough to use it for bombing raids with pakistan . With its minimum range of 300 km diameter . For Chinese we have god of war su 30 and will upgrade to super Sukoi. Equal to Chinese so call 5th gen fighters.
