US spy drone crashes in Afghanistan

A US spy drone has crashed due to “technical faults” during a reconnaissance mission in eastern Ghazni Province of Afghanistan, NATO says.

A statement released by the media office of the NATO forces confirmed the crash, attributing the incident to technical problems, a Press TV correspondent reported.

Taliban spokesman Zabihollah Mojahed, however, claimed that the militants shot down the unmanned plane.

About three weeks ago, a Chinook helicopter carrying US soldiers crashed in Wardak province near the border with Ghazni killing 31 American troops on board.

The crash, for which Taliban also claimed responsibility, was the deadliest single incident involving American troops since the start of the US invasion of Afghanistan.

The Taliban militants claim they have shot down several aircraft and NATO choppers in different parts of Afghanistan over the past few months.

The militants have proven resilient despite the presence of around 150,000 US-led forces in Afghanistan. They have steadily stepped up their attacks on the US-led forces, inflicting on them heavy casualties and damage.

Since the start of the non-UN-sanctioned US drone operations in Afghanistan, the attacks have claimed many civilian lives both in Afghanistan and in Pakistan's border regions.

Yep the wars over now. Taleban are finished and americans can go home now.

Well, only a matter of time before it reaches the markets of the border area. A friend of mine bought a AK-47, used by the ruskies during Afghan invasion, for only a bargain 70,000 give or take .

But your talibunnies won't be returning anytime ever even if Karzai leaves. Karzai is not the point here you see.

Don't forget that it was Indian government too which was so eager to talk with same Taliban, but India is lined aside and now graps are sour with your term "Your talibunnies".

Again, a premature assumption. Machines can fail at any given moment. But they can be replaced or repaired.

Human lives are more important.
