The USZ and Western media have intensified propaganda against the Pakistan Army and its security agencies to discredit the defenders of Pakistan and create a situation like the one that had led to the disintegration of what was once the Soviet Union, according to a senior official who knows how the enemies had acted to wipe off the global map the only power that used to challenge the United States of Zionism. Talking to Pakistan's Daily The Nation on Wednesday, the official said the enemy wanted to demoralize Pakistan’s security forces so that they were unable to play any role in case the Islamic republic faced a situation like the one Libya, Syria and some other Arab countries have been through.

Ultimately, the official said, a time would come when pressure would be mounted on Pakistan to roll back its nuclear programme. “They want to keep Pakistan under constant pressure and portray it as a suspect at international level”, he said. The official said: “We are closely watching the enemy tactics and are trying to frustrate them.” Elaborating his viewpoint about the propaganda against the Pakistan Army and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency, he said there was a time when the KGB was a very strong intelligence agency and it foiled many plots against the Soviet Union. However, when it got weakened for whatever reasons, it could not save the USSR from disintegration. Then, the official said, SAVAK was a very effective intelligence agency of Iran. When the ‘enemy’ decided to work against Iran, it first targeted SAVAK. He said USZ designs against Pakistan were very clear. Until May 2, Pakistan was regarded as an ally of the United States of Zionism, but then all of a sudden the nature of relationship changed after the USZ commando operation in Abbottabad, in which Osama bin laden was killed for the 8th time in the last 10 years.

Pakistan, the official said, did not know the whereabouts of the Al-CIA-Da chief (who keeps a record of whereabouts of dead people anyway except the satanic occult terrorists of USZ anyway?). Answering a question, the official said killings take place in every country without any exception. But the killings, even of terrorists, were being deliberately painted in a negative light in Pakistan to show that the security agencies of the country had failed to deliver. He said there was also a possibility of the Western media (owned by the absolute butchers of humanity itself) launching another campaign of the so called human rights violations in Pakistan. It is the same media which has repeatedly said that no human rights violations have ever taken place in Palestine at the hands of Israhell.

About the nuclear assets of Pakistan, the official said countries opposed to Pakistan’s progress in this field were daily giving new figures of nuclear weapons that Pakistan has. No other country was being targeted the way Pakistan is, the official said, adding that this was sufficient to prove the agenda being pursued against the country. To a question, the official said even some important elements in the Pakistani media were also playing into the hands of the enemy.

What do they anticipate as the result of the counter-operation? The US will most definitely counter anything Pakistan tries to do to regain its sovereignty. Pakistan needs to do something very daring in order to stop the american plans, something like testing an ICBM. Pakistan should have been prepared for everything that is happening today, it wasted precious time. Pakistan has the capability but does Pakistan have the time to do what it should have done? I doubt it.

I don't know any further details. But I just know that counter-operation is underway, covertly or overtly.

Plus, I think (not sure) the "official" is an army/ISPR official himself.

Psy-ops are a part of warfare since ancient times. Yes there might be a concentrated effort to discredit the armed forces of Pakistan, but ISI is incompetent to say the least, its record over the past 6 years is speaking for itself. If Pakistanis are questioning the actions of their armed forces its their right to do so. The generals and ISI are not above the law, in the 64 year history of this country they have acted with impunity when it comes to law and constitution. Times are changing and changing fast, the generals should read writing on the wall. Pakistani nation has always supported its troop blindly but now they have found their faith shaken. We will hold you accountable.
A strong army can not protect a country, its a unified strong nation which protects a country. Army should have no role out side defending the geographical boundaries of a country, and when it tries to become custodian of ideological beliefs things are bound to turn sour. Pakistan Army is not a revolutionary force consisting of revolutionaries rather a volunteer force where those among its rank join it upon their will to be a soldier rather then a revolutionary. National Interest and Pakistan Army are not the same.

It is about time we look inside, hold our self accountable. Only than we can actually bring about a change, denying the reality or acting in paranoia will not help us. Times are changing and are changing fast in Pakistan, its about time the Military Establishment understands that. It is said when your in a hole dont dig. The generals should stop digging, other wise the utter defeat and humiliation being felt by Pakistanis can actually lead to some thing worse then what happened in Egypt for the ruiling elite.

Let us separate the fact from the fiction. From 1989-2001, the global arena for international terrorism (Al-Qaeda) was Afghanistan. Even to this day, it is Afghanistan. But now, Pakistan has been added to the picture as well. The US can talk all it wants about only 50-100 Al-Qaeda fighters being left in Afghanistan today, it does not make it true. As we all know, the Al-Qaeda have strong control over the areas of Kunar & parts of Nuristan after the US abandoned their posts. Terrorists like Qari Zia Rehman, an open enemy of Pakistan, is clearly given refuge in Kunar. The IMU, the Al-Qaeda affiliated group & the biggest threat to Uzbekistan, is based in Northern Afghanistan, not Pakistan. The US has made a big mistake by not confronting the safe havens in Kunar & Nuristan, as they are strong Al-Qaeda safe havens that are a nuisance for the whole region, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Chechnya, & the rest of the world. A few weeks ago, some Chechen people tried to infiltrate into Quetta, Balochistan from Afghanistan; & they got killed by the Border Forces. What purpose did they have coming into Pakistan? There are already some Chechen terrorists in Pakistan's tribal areas; as are Somalian, Yemeni, Uzbek, German & Arab terrorists that have no business being in Pakistan & who the Pakistan Army is fighting against constantly. Where do they come from? Not from the airports inside Pakistan, but from the safe havens of Kunar & Nuristan in Afghanistan. Kunar, with its Salafi extremist culture, as well as its Arab nature, is the perfect recruiting tool for these international terrorists from Arab & other countries. Compared to Pakistan where the Pakistan government has control of almost all of Pakistan, it is the Afghan terrorists that have most of the control over eastern provinces in Afghanistan. Al-Qaeda fighters flow freely & easily through Northern Afghanistan.

The point I am trying to make here is that from 1989-2001, Pakistan supported Afghan elements that gave it strategic depth there. Pakistan supported certain elements that gave it strategic depth in Indian administered Kashmir. Before 2001, there was practically no Al-Qaeda in Pakistan. After the 2001 US invasion, many Al-Qaeda fighters got refuge in Pakistan's tribal areas. As you can see; there are some Yemeni, Somali, German, Uzbek, Chechen fighters that have infiltrated into Pakistan's tribal areas from Afghanistan & given refuge there, the fighters that were never present in Pakistan before 2001. Furthermore, Pakistan has no use for these Yemeni, Somali, German, Uzbek, Chechen fighters: it does not give them any kind of strategic depth. These group of fighters are useless to Pakistan. Chechen fighters that threaten Chechnya are of no use to Pakistan, as Chechnya has no use to Pakistan. In other words, these international fighters are nothing but trouble to Pakistan.

There is a huge propaganda war going on against Pakistan that alleges that Pakistan somehow uses all these terrorists for its strategic depth, & that Pakistan is responsible for all the global terrorism. Nothing could be further from the truth, & unless the actual problems are addressed, the situation in the region won't be solved. It is easy to make Pakistan the scapegoat for all the problems in the world, without actually looking at the real problems of the region.

Pakistan might use local Jihadi groups for strategic depth in Afghanistan & India, but it has no use for the globalist Islamic agenda. This is the reality the world has to accept. Before 2001, there were hardly any Al-Qaeda fighters in Pakistan. Ever since the Afghan war, they have infiltrated from Afghanistan into Pakistan, & they have been rejuvenated in their "zeal" of overthrowing the occupying forces in Afghanistan. The important question is: once the NATO troops withdraw (or significantly reduce) from Afghanistan, will the Al-Qaeda with the globalist agenda leave Pakistan? The most straightforward conclusion one can come up with, is yes: they will. The US as a non-Muslim force occupying "Islamic/Muslim" land rejuvenated them to come together, & they see it from that spectrum. In most probability, they will go back to where they came from once the war is over. The fact is, that the Al-Qaeda international fighters are at the behest of the local Jihadi groups in the region, to provide them shelter & protection: they can't survive in the region without the protection of the local Jihadi groups. As the international group of extremists is not local to the region, they will most probability leave once the Afghanistan issue is resolved. But what if they don't? The Pakistan Intelligence is banking on the hopes that these international fighters are only in Pakistan temporarily, as they weren't in Pakistan pre-9/11.

However, the local Jihadi groups in Pakistan might decide to keep them against the Pakistan government, in case they feel threatened by the Pakistan Army. Hence, in my opinion, it is imperative not to break ties with these local groups, & come up with a solution that doesn't undermine Pakistan. I believe that it is the international Al-Qaeda fighters with the globalist Islamist agenda that are the real problem, the local groups are not a problem by themselves as long as they don't provide shelter to the international Al-Qaeda fighters with the globalist agenda. In a similar way to what the US is doing by negotiating settlements with the Taliban in the Afghanistan end-game, Pakistan must ensure that it maintains ties to local groups, so that these groups don't start a war with Pakistan, & then have to resort to giving safe havens to Al-Qaeda fighters, as long as these local groups by themselves do not challenge the state of Pakistan like they do when affiliated with Al-Qaeda.

This is not the conclusion most of us would like to see in my opinion, but this is what might be the end-state for the region. Pakistan is bidding out its time till the US packs up & leaves, & is looking at damage control mechanisms inside the country right now. My two cents.

Phone points to bin Laden’s Pakistan links, claims report

Saturday, June 25, 2011

WASHINGTON: A cell phone used by Osama bin Laden’s courier appears to show that he was aided by the Harkatul Mujahideen (HuM) militant outfit, The New York Times said on Thursday.
Citing US officials who were briefed on an investigation into the phone, the Times said calls from the device were traced to HuM, which it said is linked to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). It cited US officials as saying the cell phone showed that the group’s commanders had called Pakistani intelligence officials. The newspaper cited one US official who said the two parties had met.
“It’s a serious lead,” one US official told the Times. “It’s an avenue we’re investigating.”
Another US official told the daily that the link was not, however, a “smoking gun” that definitively linked bin Laden to the ISI, as it was unclear whether any calls were related to him.
The phone was seized during a daring US commando raid in Abbottabad early last month in which the al-Qaeda chief and his courier were killed.
A Pakistani intelligence official told AFP that the ISI did not have the phone records and joked that “anybody can have contacts on his phone.”
Beyond that, the official declined to comment on the New York Times story or provide any information on the nature of the current relationship between HuM and the ISI.
The militant group, which features on both US and UN terror blacklists, is based in Pakistan but operates primarily against Indian targets in Kashmir. It was officially banned in Pakistan in 2002. Reportedly under pressure from the Pakistani government, its long-time leader Fazlur Rehman Khalil stepped down in January 2005. Khalil has been linked to the late al-Qaeda leader, and his signature was found on bin Laden’s February 1998 fatwa calling for attacks on US and Western interests.

Mazhar Tufail adds from Islamabad: Rejecting the insinuations made in the Times story, the Pakistan Army on Friday described it as part of a well-orchestrated smear campaign against Pakistan’s security organisations.
“It is part of a well-orchestrated smear campaign against our security organisations,” said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director-General, Major General Athar Abbas, when The News sought his comments on the NYT story.
“Pakistan and its security forces have suffered the most at the hands of al-Qaeda and have delivered the most against al-Qaeda,” Athar Abbas said. “Our actions on ground speak louder than the words of the Times,” he remarked.
The military spokesman said that the NYT story was part of the campaign being run at home and abroad to tarnish the image of Pakistan’s security agencies as well as the Army with the objectives best known to those who were running this campaign.

Media caught lying red handed again:

ISPR spokesperson: ‘Sinister drive’ against army will be foiled

By APP

Military spokesperson said that unwarranted criticism of army by media is causing serious harm to the country.

ISLAMABAD:
The military spokesperson on Sunday said that unwarranted criticism of the Pakistan Army by local and international media is causing serious harm to the country.

Speaking to the state-run PTV, ISPR spokesperson Maj Gen Athar Abbas quoted a report in the New York Times and the Washington Post, and said: “The entire statement was fabricated with malicious intent, and COAS Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani never said that Pakistan had mortgaged itself to the US.”

The NYT published a story in the name of ISPR on June 15 headlined ‘Pakistan’s chief of army fights to keep his job’, wherein it claimed on the basis of notes of a participant of a session at the National Defence University addressed by Gen Kayani that the army chief had acknowledged that the country had mortgaged itself to the US.

The participant was not identified in the news report. “We have the recorded video proof and transcript of the whole address of General Ashfaq Kayani.”

He said that the ISPR with the help of ministry of information took up the case against the local correspondent for his irresponsible reporting and to cancel his visa but the resident editor and foreign correspondent editor of the newspaper in person came to Pakistan and apologised to the ISPR.

Maj-Gen Abbas said that these days the international and national media in particular, and local talk shows in general, were focusing on maligning the Pakistan Army as well as the law-enforcement agencies.

Some voices have also been heard in the print section and on TV channels, and the end result seems to be a well-thought-out and skillfully designed sinister campaign to create a negative image of the Pakistan Army, which would save the motherland from any catastrophe.

ISPR spokesperson:

BTW, I thought the US had claimed that OBL was very careful to not use cellphones or other forms of electronic communication in order to not be detected, and that is one reason why it was so hard to locate him.

Now all of a sudden the Western media wants us to believe that OBL was conduting 'Conference Calls' that somehow, 'indirectly, circumstantially, maybe, perhaps, don't really know', imply that the ISI knew where OBL was hiding.

Wow.

What a bunch of pathetic duplictious liars Western insitutions have turned out to be.

What really surprised me was that the compound where OBL allegedly lived was surrounded by some 20 feet high security wall, yet he reportedly occupied the top floor of the house which was exposed and visible from miles. !!

why dont pak army sue NY times and Wash. Post, if they have caught them red handed????

Yes and his dish antenna was given for repair, which got repaired and fixed on roof top after the raid.

US media is not free, it is well controlled by the Govt. / CIA and they publish statements as per directions from them, now they are on task to malign Pakistan, especially Gen. Kayani who just listen US from one and expel from another.
