CN economy is too bad in trade war, thats why CN cant "protect" their U shaped claim in SCS( east VN sea) now.

If CN is still "rich"and "stronk" then we will not able to place the rig there till now.

The entire world's economy is in bad shape, since no one is immortal.

True,The entire world's economy is in bad shape. But VN economy will be ok as we have FTA wt EU. Products manufacturing in VN will have cheaper price than any other countries ( Thai, ID,MY, CN etc) tks to Zero tax to EU.

Yeah, actually what Xi is doing now is the best for CN (no negotiation wt US, withdraw half of ships in the clash wt VN to prepare for a much bigger conflict against US etc ).

CN took advantage from Soviet-US cold war, so its time u guys should let small VN take a small benefit from CN-US conflict. Bigger and stronger VN (after unify sub Mekong and control the whole SCS(east VN sea))will contribute more benefit and stability to the region

A note to the Vietnamese members, trade surpluses go along with low budget deficits, so the country can grow without usury and debt. This also allows for more military spending. Think Saudi Arabia. They have low debt, high foreign reserves, high military budgets. They determine their future, when and if they want to.
