What's new

US President Donald Trump expressed his shock that flu kills 25,000 to 69,000 people a year in the U

I would think a lot of leaders would be shocked to hear that statistic as well, its not like everyone keeps an eye on number of people who die from flu anywhere, unless if you are in health sector

I too didnt know how many people die from the flu until recently. I think many still dont know. So IMO the point hes trying to make is - this is not some zombie apocalypse! It's bad, but so is every other virus such as the flu.

China has 4 times the population of US. You do the maths and see who is worst off?

How about the other 194 countries on this planet with mostly higher death rates? Are they all still considered worthless humans in the eyes of the Chinese here and only US totals are worth posting?

Your math and worse off statement is exactly why countries think China is behind the Coronavirus outbreak.

I was shocked too when inread those numbers back when i did. Ee don't consider flu to be a killer normally.

I feel what he is saying.

so death rate per thousand from flu in China is lower than in US?

Yes, but not by much.
