I am actually highlighting the difference between productivity (making lots of cheap products) and quality (making products that perform better).

For example you can automate the factory to gain both productivity and quality gains.

There is no proof that the Apple phones and Tesla cars from China are of inferior quality than made in Texas.

You can get poor quality products coming out from highly expensive regions too if you do not have good quality control processes including internal and supplier quality reviews.
