It's not congress. It's a subcommittee hearing on South Asian human rights situation. They couldn't even call it Kashmir hearing. It's not a big deal. There were several of such hearings on Balochistan alone. Like I said hear the entire proceedings, you'll see Alice Wells forcefully saying Pakistan to control its militants.

Seriously, you think her job is to defend India? She is there on behalf on US administration. If you feel US is biased, then why plead with it?

She did not warn anybody, she suggested India to find a balance between security and individual liberties. She said it was off in this particular case in her opinion. This is from someone looking from outside. She doesn't have the same emotions we do, so yeah, no worries.
