UN is being pressurized by the west to lift the sanctions imposed against the Taliban leaders.

Britain and the United States have started accepting the terms of the Afghan Taliban in an attempt to restore peace in Afghanistan.

In a report published in the Guardian, the Afghan Taliban presented Britain and the United States with a few terms for peace negotiations. One of the terms was to lift the UN sanctions imposed on the 18 leader of the Taliban. Among the 18 Taliban is former leader Muhammad Qalamuddin and former Taliban education minister Arsala Rahmani. According to reports the sanction would be lifted this month.

I don't understand why the Talibans want the sanction on its leaders lifted. Was it hurting them that much? They could have come up with other meaningful conditions.

these things are done in background and real terms may come out later. once again they start accepting there defeat by accepting terms and condition of taliban. firstly the terms which dont hurt there ego will be public and then may we listen the real terms and conditions. :coffee:

As much as I hate the Taliban, the only people that can reject the Taliban is the Afghan people itself. Not the US, Britain, Pakistan or India.
