UP man ‘spreading word of Christ’ held

Preaching Christianity is misusing freedom of speech and religion...Interesting ...Yet you lot call yourselves secular...Maybe knowing the definition of the word would help before being proud of something you are not while doing the exact opposite!
Indian constitution has put some restriction on freedom of speech and religion, maybe reading up more on that will be more helpful than knowing the definition of the word.

Again...that is what you are wanting to interpret like. freedom of speech means stoking religious tensions? Kudos!!
What religious tensions can there be in a secular nation? Indians day in and day out preach it as the ONLY way to go..Why isnt the ONLY way working in India?
Tell that to your dear friend who brought that subject here.
He equated the DOING to that of the Paris attackers not to Pakistan..

It means you dont get to question coz we dont pride ourselves as a secular nation...we dont uphold that belief...

As far as the burning goes that is not right!
The thread is about India if you cant speak for the topic - step out!
That topic was brought just to knock some sense into that poster for taking a jibe at India.

How is it he is not welcome in a secular nation?

How is it a crime when all he is doing is practicing his right in a secular nation?
The fact that he went to the extent of preaching his religion says that he was more than welcome. And if you cannot comprehend properly, it's nobody's fault. I'll explain it to you... he was detained for trying to propagate his religion in a volatile atmosphere. Not because he was practicing his religion.

:o:

And then you people try to give us some tips! At least our constitution has not restricted anyone it is a different thing people arent following it....or overlook it...But having it in your constitution makes you a.....fill in the blanks ;)

What tensions? Have you been missing all the "ghar wapsi" thing? Is it required to spread his religion in these circumstances? That too before a major hindu festival?

He equated the DOING to that of the Paris attackers not to Pakistan..
I'd reiterate...That equation is as valid as comparing a nulear bomb to a diwali cracker. 12 people dead vs 1 person taken to preventive custody? Where is the logic!!??

Secularism is the way to go is what Indians here are preaching Pakistanis day in and day out...Why isnt this ultra drug kicking in? What is wrong with the environment? Didnt the SECULARISM save the day?
As i said that he can preach Christianity as much as he wants when the situation cools down. This is done all the time in India.Case in point When Muslims celebrate there festivals where they beat themselves(Muharram?),Hindu nationalistic groups like RSS especially VHP and Bajarang Dal are told to keep a low profile to avoid unnecessary tensions. However TOI has a habit of sensationalising every thing and hence you are reading this news

Again without reading it you are assuming things. but hey everyone has a right to have an opinion.

So you admit you attacked him coz you couldnt answer why your secular notion is backfiring?

The fact that he went to the extent of preaching his religion says that he was more than welcome.
Just coz he did it doesnt mean he was welcome!
And if you cannot comprehend properly, it's nobody's fault. I'll explain it to you... he was detained for trying to propagate his religion in a volatile atmosphere. Not because he was practicing his religion.
And you have the balls to ask about the laws in Saudi when your country does EXACTLY the same?!

Again let me ask you another time WHY HASNT secularism pill kicked in? Why is there a volatile environment in a secular nation?

Indians ALL OVER PDF preach to Pakistanis that secularism is the miracle cure to all our problems with religion...I guess not, huh? :pop:

Then explain these:

I am pointing out what I read and Indians told me...Nothing from my own! but hey everyone has the rights to BS to others in one thread and then say it is wrong in another thread ;)

No..it was prevented from being misused. :)

So when Muslims say Charlie Hebdo was misusing its freedom to speech, you guys support Charlie Hebdo and ask Muslims to ignore it and turn a blind eye towards it.

So in this case why can't Indian state itself turn a blind eye to this "misuse" of freedom of speech just like it turns a blind eye towards crimes of Hindutva organizations and people related to it.

Err...innocents were killed in paris. In your hurry to demonize hindus, you are defeating the purpose of logic.

I am defending the right of free speech of Arvind D'Souza.

Lets start a trend on Twitter #wearearvinddsouza. Shall we?

So you admit you attacked him coz you couldnt answer why your secular notion is backfiring?
Ofcourse...take a jibe at India and you'll be replied back in the same tone. Simple. :)
Just coz he did it doesnt mean he was welcome!
Unlike in Pakistan, he is. :)

Saudi? Your argument is getting lame. Show me one temple in saudi. I'll show you 100's of mosques/churches in India.

What tensions? Have you been missing all the "ghar wapsi" thing? Is it required to spread his religion in these circumstances? That too before a major hindu festival?
I dont know Indians are usually irrational when same situation happens in Pakistan...

I'd reiterate...That equation is as valid as comparing a nulear bomb to a diwali cracker. 12 people dead vs 1 person taken to preventive custody? Where is the logic!!??
the logic is the DOING...
And if you cannot comprehend properly, it's nobody's fault. I'll explain it to you
The people didnt want Hebdo to "preach" their thoughts through cartoons....Indian govt being secular doesnt want this 1 person to "preach" his!

THAT is the DOING! Not result (no of people and other stat is results)

Gosh when I have to teach people online...should start charging you people! only £10/ hr

So when Muslims say Charlie Hebdo was misusing its freedom to speech, you guys support Charlie Hebdo and ask Muslims to ignore it and turn a blind eye towards it.
If you compare both the cases, one is detained, other is death. If you feel no difference between the both... no wonder religious minorities are annihilated in pakistan

Lets start a trend on Twitter #wearearvinddsouza. Shall we?
Start it and see the response.

I am pointing out what I read and Indians told me...Nothing from my own! but hey everyone has the rights to BS to others in one thread and then say it is wrong in another thread ;)
You run all over this forum telling people to read about Islam before making an opinion about it based on actions of what Islamic extremists do, so why double standards now? read about it before condemning it. Or stop preaching to others.

Then explain these:
Tensions are running high in U.P. and maybe more in that area.Locals complained that he is using forceful meausres to convert people and thats why he has been held to avoid clashes between communities.Police will carry out there investigations and then he will be released/jailed according to finding of the investigatiions, after that he could preach his religion.

Ofcourse...take a jibe at India and you'll be replied back in the same tone. Simple. :)
 its not our fault India is doing these jibe inviting things! How is it a jibe at India when pointing out the obvious? Why so sensitive?
Unlike in Pakistan, he is. :)
A trip to detention/ court or whatever is not an invitation! Again compare yourselves with a secular country not a non secular one...
Saudi? Your argument is getting lame. Show me one temple in saudi. I'll show you 100's of mosques/churches in India.
You are the one comparing SECULAR India with NOT SECULAR Pakistan ...talk about lame :tsk:
