Pakistan is that 'bhoot pareet', India needs to scare its children with to keep them in 'line'. India has almost 80 states or strong ethnic groups. It needs an 'enemy' to scare them into unity.

Nope. Except for Terror attacks and the occasional cricket or now recent bollywood Pakistanis, Pakistan does not come into our discussions. At All.

So this is no medical term, right? Just another adjective in the dictionary.

One question - the Yazidis. Would you consider them 'Islamophobic' or Islamophillic? Or what about the girls sold by Boko Haram? What perception are they going to have? In case they hate it/fear it - will they be considered 'Islamophobic'? This is essential to understanding the root cause of the alleged 'Islamophobia' that you speak about.

I don't understand the connection you are trying to make
By bringing up these two cases you are implying that the Hindu majority in India has suffered the same kind of abuses from the Muslims in the past hence this Islamophobia
and no i don't consider Yazidis Islamophobic at this point
but yes if in the future they develop hate for all Muslims knowing that ISIS doesn't represent Islam in any form having lived in the region for so long !
its would be like Jews hating the German nation in 2014 for the action of the Nazis

Anyway - so if, say for example a relative of mine is beheaded by people shouting Islamic slogans, what effect would it have on me? Will I go about researching if they were doing the Islamic thing or will it scar me for life? What would the effect on me be when I hear similar slogans in future again?

Also first generation Israelis, hated almost ALL Germans. Only gradually around the late 60s did Israel come closer to (West) Germany.

I feel sorry for Indians, they burnt billions of dollar to keep Pakistan occupied and forget Kashmir but here we are the ghost of Kashmir still haunts. One word defines their national psyche 'Mediocre'. Their frustration and hatred is understandable. Their obsession with PDF speaks of their burning desire to over come this passivity that runs through their system but their activism can only reach keyboards. India wants to be a regional power, well it does not look good on a CV you cannot overwhelm a minnow 'failed terrorist state' (your words not mine). Too bad we all want so many things but unfortunately have to settle for frustrated minds, moist eyes and broken dreams.
