Ukraine needs Azerbaijan's support

"You have to understand us like no one else."
We appealed to the Azerbaijani leadership to condemn the "elections" held in Ukraine's regions controlled by the separatists.

Oxu.Az reports that the statement came from the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishchenko in Baku today.

The Ambassador noted the similarity of the problems in our countries:

"Azerbaijan must understand us like no one else, because part of the territory of Azerbaijan is also under occupation. The current government in Russia is totally unpredictable, and no one knows what plans the Kremlin bears. Therefore, Azerbaijan should support the territorial integrity of Ukraine. "

The Ambassador said that "Russia's aggressive policy must be stopped as soon as possible, because no one can predict to what the conflict could escalate in the future":

"We need to stop it jointly until it's gone too far."

Azerbaijan doesn’t recognize any “election” without Ukrainian central authorities’ consent

Azerbaijan is consistently supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and therefore doesn’t recognize any of the so-called elections in this country without its central authorities’ consent, the acting head of the press service of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Hikmet Hajiyev told Trend Nov. 6.

It should be noted that the self-proclaimed and unrecognized Donetsk and Luhansk “people’s republics” in Ukraine held elections of regional heads and deputies of the people’s councils on Nov. 2.

The elections are not recognized by Ukraine, other countries and international organizations.
