British PM Boris Johnson will spend £18 billion within five years in research and development, to promote a “new wave of economic growth” after Brexit. According to The Times, British PM will spend £800m for defence agency, a scientific research body modelled on US’s Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The “advanced research projects agency” will be based outside the golden triangle of London, Oxford and Cambridge. It also wants to set up a centre of scientific excellence, modelled on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in the north.
