British police are questioning a Pakistani student arrested at Birmingham Airport on suspicion of a terrorism offense, the West Midlands force said Tuesday.

West Midlands Police said the 22-year-old man was arrested after arriving at the central England airport on a flight from Dubai.

He was being questioned on suspicion of possessing “a document likely to be of use to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.”

Police said the document was found on the suspect, who is in Britain on a student visa, when he arrived on Monday evening.

They said the man is from Pakistan and studying at a “fully accredited institution” in Britain.

why i dont see this news in any UK newspaper..

any way like many previous news, he will be released soon without any charges but of course you will not post that news

suspicion is not proof of crime

we have seen this before lol

Police and counter-terrorism officials were left embarrassed last night after nine Pakistani students suspected of involvement in what Gordon Brown claimed was a "very big plot" against the UK were released without charge.

Investigators had desperately hoped they would find something at the suspects' homes. But after initially hunting for, and failing to find bomb-making equipment, they turned to the computers with their fingers crossed that some evidence of a plot would turn up. They found nothing substantial.

Despite media reports and the plot being talked up by Brown, there was never any evidence that the suspects had identified targets for an attack

these arrests are made unddr new counter terrorism laws which dont need any proof of wrong doing.
police can arrest anybody under these rules.
the suspivious document may have been a letter written in arabic or something similar..
i am sure he will be out tomorrow without charge.

Acts like this tarnish the image of Pakistan in the international arena, The pakistani govt should take strong steps to cut down on few groups who carry this thought process.

In the wake of London Olympics the terror threat is eminent. As there were involvements of people of a particular nation in terrorist attacks in the past, UK is on high alert.

I think the threat will grow as the London Olympics comes near.
