That's why it is not allowed to be a public company. The people they get their money from know exactly the risks.
Not really. Facebook didn't make any profit and they still go IPO. In the US, if a company show "potential", it will go IPO. With wall street speculation, they can cheat a lot of folks and that's how these wall street brokers are making money.

What the??...um...you are off by $1B in profits. o_O Facebook IPO date: Friday, May 18, 2012.

Facebook’s Profits: $1 Billion, On $3.7 Billion In Revenues
"Facebook just filed its IPO registration (SEC doc here) and its financials are off the charts. Facebook’s IPO document provides the first peek at its financials.
The company did $3.7 billion in revenues in 2011, and $1 billion in profits. That’s right. Net income was $1 billion."

Allow me to chime in.

Don't think Uber is a ponzi scheme. I don't think you can backup your statement. Prove me wrong!

It's just auditing is much stricter (even in non public companies) to avoid situations like this:

You have used this one before. It's a blog and it's almost 5 years old.
Have you got a newer one, say within the past year.
Reason being, many things have changed in China in the past 5 years.
For example, 5 years ago, western MSM were harping on China's HSR being a white elephant but the story has changed quite a bit since then.

And neither the first, will nor be the last.

This just prove that crooks are everywhere, they can be found in US and in China or in Australia.
Or as they say, "buyers beware".

Companies such as Facebook, Alphabet/Google grew fast because of the immense supports from the Agency's funding. Their stock prices will remain high as long as the elites still wanna keep up the Dow Jones index, the very showcase of the U.S. economic growth and strength and the illusion of the paper wealth!

The Two Faces Of Facebook

It's hard to find anything negative about Facebook (FB). Pro Facebook fanatics say that's a good thing. With a market cap of 330 Billion it's hard to argue, that investors love Facebook . But what does Facebook do? In this article we'll prove that:
  • Facebook is a disaster waiting to happen
  • The only thing supporting Facebook is the intelligence community
  • Facebook will always exist as a platform, but the business model will crumble like the house of cards it is
  • The huge amount of Face-spam, hackers, fake-profiles, advertiser profiles, and other dishonest users will ultimately be revealed at some point
  • Facebook advertising doesn't work

Facebook Reveals Seven Point Plan To Eradicate "Fake News"

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has a message for his billion-plus users: "you're not capable of deciding for yourself what is 'news' and what is not, so we will do it for you."

Facebook has been widely blamed - by the left-leaning mainstream media - for allowing the spread of online misinformation, amusingly much of it pro-Trump, but Zuckerberg has rejected the notion that Facebook influenced the outcome of the election or that fake news is a major problem on the service.

So to clarify, Facebook will make it easier for any Tom, Dick, Or Harriet to complain about a story that will necessarily cut the revenues from that entity and will rely on 'fact-checking' organizations, establishment 3rd parties, and the mainstream media for input.

Well what could go wrong?

As we noted previously, while Facebook (or Google) have every right to tweak their ad policies however they see fit - especially if in the process their own ad revenue decline, as both companies retain a portion of the ad proceeds they pay out to content providers - the move is yet another step on a slippery slope, one which begins with determining just what is considered "fake news" and ends with blanket internet censorship along ideological lines.

NSA and Facebook Work Together

In 2007, Matt Greenop documented Facebook’s indirect connection to the CIA and the military industrial and now surveillance complex:

Facebook’s first round of venture capital funding ($500,000) came from former Paypal CEO Peter Thiel. Author of anti-multicultural tome ‘The Diversity Myth’, he is also on the board of radical conservative group VanguardPAC.

The second round of funding into Facebook ($US12.7 million) came from venture capital firm Accel Partners. Its manager James Breyer was formerly chairman of the National Venture Capital Association, and served on the board with Gilman Louie, CEO of In-Q-Tel, a venture capital firm established by the Central Intelligence Agency in 1999. One of the company’s key areas of expertise are in “data mining technologies”.

Breyer also served on the board of R&D firm BBN Technologies, which was one of those companies responsible for the rise of the internet.

Dr Anita Jones joined the firm, which included Gilman Louie. She had also served on the In-Q-Tel’s board, and had been director of Defense Research and Engineering for the US Department of Defense.

Nice...but you can easily argue that WeChat is even MORE in cahoots with the Chinese government. Remember the Chinese government has the power to shutdown chat topics and ban words. The US government can't do that with Facebook. https://citizenlab.org/2016/11/wechat-china-censorship-one-app-two-systems/

Then you are talking about the Corporatocracy vs One Party system, whereas most of the world population mistake the Corporatocracy for freedom, democracy though they instantly recognise the one-party system.

US is a neo-fascist regime in which business interests trump public interest.

Hence, the state-friendly media will promote corporate interests because they are extensions of various corporations. They will create excitement over the next iPhone, will generate brand worship.

Like the above article you shared rightly puts,

The only thing supporting Facebook is the intelligence community

and

The huge amount of Face-spam, hackers, fake-profiles, advertiser profiles, and other dishonest users will ultimately be revealed at some point

But these almost never come up on popular media.

So if Trump nationalizes every company in January or decides to dissolve the Democratic Party and have the Republicans rule forever does that suddenly change the definition of who is behind any spying in Facebook? Would it really change anything?

No. It would not change anything other than lifting the symbolic veil on the existing reality.

It's interesting reading but I am not really convinced.
You can call me Mr Skeptic but that's me.
Yes, CIA will support companies that can further their interests. Same thing; the Environment Agency will support companies in green and renewable energy.

The title of the link says, "
"One App, Two Systems: How WeChat uses one censorship policy in China and another internationally"
It says that WeChat uses different censorship or filtering policy in different countries. They are doing that to comply with the local laws. If a company wants to operate in a country, it has to comply with the local laws, fair enough.
It is not in cahoots with the government. However, we know that big MNC just ignore requests from smaller countries.
