ABU DHABI: Minister of state for foreign affairs, United Arab Emirates, Anwar Mohammed Gargash Monday termed statement on Pakistan that he had issued on social media a few weeks back was his personal opinion.

“The statement has nothing to do with the foreign policy of UAE,” Anwar Gargash clarified during a TV interview.

He said according to his understanding no ground assistance was sought from Pakistan in the Yemen fight. “We were only seeking political and military help from Pakistan,” he added.

The UAE Minister had taken to the social media site twitter, where he criticized Pakistan over its decision to stay neutral in Yemen conflict.

Gargash in an interview with Khaleej Times, warned Pakistan of having to pay a “heavy price” for taking on what he called an “ambiguous stand”.

His arrogant comments probably went a long way in turning almost completely the public opinion and media against any Pakistani army intervention. I say "almost" because the mullah brigade of course will do anything for Arabs, but the masses for once surprisingly showed that Pakistanis are an honorable people. If Gargash's views did not represent the governments, then he should have stated that explicitly when writing his tweets. Otherwise it is just safe to assume that whatever a minister writes, unless otherwise stated reflects the opinion of the government.

That is not enough and UAE should say good bye to him from his ministry and this man damage UAE Pakistan relation and need to be punish

A junior minister crosses all limits of diplomatic norm and senior ministers don't even to bother to clarify UAE stances! Which world do you live in my dear friend?

Oh thank you your highness for clarification after a long silence which is dumber than your "threat". UAE could have refuted you if it's stance was not in line with a "personal opinion" of a minister, ya sheikh!

No one cares. In fact, I thank our dear minister here, as he's shown the true fact of our so called "brothers".
