I don't know about Saudi but a labour reform law is on the cards in the UAE. It might end the abuse and use of foreign workers, especially poor ones. Another thing in Saudi and UAE is some local companies keep the passports.

Only western pressure will solve some of the problems. The problems are mitigated by a simple other problem. The arabs of Saudi and richer gulf states view us as inferior and this is often made clear by Al Hasanis posts.

It is a difficult fact to digest but these countries must admit it as UAE is close to. The conditions for migrant workers though are better at times and in cases than in their home countries but not always.
