please keep us posted. I want these guys to pay the price if found guilty. What mlitary secrets were they trying to steal. Most importantly why would CPC allow foreigners to work on military projects?

I thought they were white because of their names.
KEVIN GARRATT, JULIA DAWN GARRATT

Saw this on BBC last night.

My first reaction was that this is a response to Canada's accusations of China and not much else. I'm a big China supporter and I will always be, but this case seems like a classic case of "oh yeah, well watch this."

Their son is a real estate agent in Vancouver and he claimed that his parents have no ties to any govt or military whatsoever. What's the evidence?

The case is being heard, if the problem is related to two aspects of espionage, I think, in some cases things that might be a secret.
You said about his situation, only one side of the story. I reflected that China is not necessary for an "innocent" foreign citizens to spy correct me, if the "retaliation" so simple, would not it be able to "create" more "spy" is used as a foreign "retaliation"? how to exchanges between two nations Civilian ?
If he is "innocent", as civilians, this correction 。What are the benefits for China?
I do not believe that the Canadian government would faire China "persecution" of its "innocent" citizens.

In addition, Mr. and Mrs. Smith tells us, among spies, even husband and wife, but also with conceal to each other:angel:

I was about to post this to @Abii . It's a very valid point. Two Canadians running a small joint for 30 years in China-NK border does not make much sense. Unless for spying.

1, National security problem, be careful!

2, I can easily identify American born Chinese(East or South Asian) from Chinese orginins. I never made a mistake.

On related matters, a student was apprehended for selling national secrets to foreigners. The student named Chang was paid $32,000 US for his role. This is just tip of the iceburg.
