Turkish gendarmes arrested eight Kurdish wedding musicians on Friday on charges of terrorist propaganda for singing songs in Kurdish, the Kurdish news agency Mezopotamya said.

The use of Kurdish in various aspects of life was subject to a series of bans in Turkey since the republic was established in 1923. Despite most of the bans, reinstated after the 1980 military coup, being lifted in 1991, it is still illegal for Kurdish to be used as a medium of instruction in schools.

Police and prosecutors, however, have often interpreted the use of Kurdish as tantamount to support for the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which has been fighting security forces in Turkey’s mainly Kurdish southeast since 1984. Turkey, the United States and the European Union all list the PKK as a terrorist organisation.

The eight musicians, from two different bands were arrested in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa, Mezopotamya said. The gendarmerie operates as a rural police force.

How do define provocation? If Turkish members posted article about demonstration against China in Turkish about Uyghur then why can't this news be posted. You need to be fair. I am not asking too much, my article comes with proper link.

Precisely... Based on what criteria? I dont think you can claim us as provocation and I believe this forum treats everybody equal, right?

You did make a claim against Another Mod without any proof on open forum and now you are asking me to tell you? Did you think that before making such claim and better to ask any Mod? but unfortunately, that is the weakest mindset. It wasn't Turkish Mod and that will suffice for your.

Proper link yeah... credible source? They don't even have their office registered to share their address on their website rather seems to be some walking-by journalist having an Email contact that too without any link rather an online request form connecting it to the emailing.

So next time, before blaming any Mod just because you have your mind before; will not be tolerated at all. Secondly, bring something with credible & famous sources to the table to discuss instead of sharing a site address who doesn't have their own address at all.
