Turkish foreign minister on Monday said the US move to end sanctions waivers on Iran oil imports would not contribute to the regional peace and stability, says Anadolu Agency.

“The US decision to end sanctions waivers on Iran oil imports will not serve regional peace and stability, yet will harm Iranian people,” Mevlut Cavusoglu said in a Twitter post.

“Turkey rejects unilateral sanctions and impositions on how to conduct relations with neighbours,” Cavusoglu added.

Earlier, the US announced that it would end sanctions waivers on five countries – including Turkey, China, Japan, South Korea and India – importing oil from Iran.

If Turkey actually continues to import oil from Iran, gets sanctioned but still continues to import from Iran. Maybe it will inspire other countries to finally stand up against US bullying

I don’t get it to be honest. Turkey is a secular country. If Iran falls, It’s not like Turkey is next in line. Although Turkey have benefited a lot from Iran’s position. Other than Turkey giving a helping hand to a country it shares a lot of history and culture with. I don’t see the point of standing with Iran. Especially nowadays that everyone is only looking after their own interests. But there is this case that if Iran falls, Kurds will take over western Iran and Iraq, possibly even east Turkey.

That's a nexus that I want to see. As far as pivoting toward anyone I think these three can stand together quite easily and try to balance relations. Arabs would be the biggest opposition to such an alliance in the region I think.

Why doesn’t China go to Saudi Arabia and say. “Hey, we buy x amount of Iranian oil for y price. Give us twice the amount for half the price and we will cut our ties with Iran.”? I’m sure Saudi will accept this offer
