Cooperation with Turkey is welcomed , the reason why we can't do any large projects is because in Pakistan there is a trend of doing business with small Engineering firms , who can do small scope work may be make a building or two , there is no massive project companies (Big Engineering Firms)

When country has a BIG company , they retain their experience and then 4-5 years later get to do a similar project across the country or world. The ideal company which should have matured into a big CORPORATION should have been Pakistan Steeles Mill but that did not happen

  • Thus , Pakistan does not have that setup so outside help is needed now

For small stuff like wall cleaning / road making small job Pakistan's local companies can do

Just look at the Islamabad Airport project took 8-10 years to make

Pakistan do not have our own BIG Corporations

  • We don't have our General Motors
  • We don't have our Simens
  • We don't have our Bombardier
  • We don't have our Boeing
  • We don't have our own Rafale
  • We don't have our own Apple

We have Descon but Noony tunes and patwari media made a hoopla about them getting the dam contract. Descon with annual revenue of $1b and 15,000 employees definitely has the capabilities to take up large scale infrastructure projects.

The issue is with Pak governments as well, they give jobs to foreign companies rather than building inhouse capabilities. Why is it that Pakistani engineers go abroad and do commendable job for these engineering companies but cannot do the same in Pakistan?

we had some of those in 1960s, all of those were killed in 1970s by bhutto as 32 families controlled these companies and were getting very rich, people hated that so voted for bhutto who killed those companies by forcefully closing them through nationalization

I would request PM to sell 51% of Railway, PIA and Steelmill to foreign investors.
Railway to Turkey
PIA to UAE and Singapore
Steel mill to Russia
